Schick Silk Effects Plus works great

5

I have tried a lot of different razors made for women and I finally found a razor that works as well as it is supposed to.It does a great job at removing hair with very little effort. The Schick Silk Effects Plus razor now has a new flower design,so that you know it is made especilly for women and it comes with 2 replacement blades. This razor is not a disposable. It is light weight andcurved slightly so it does a great job stayng close enough to the skin while you are shaving. It works very well with all types of shaving creams and shaving gels and it even works great with soap. This product is worth the price you pay for it.The schick Silk Effects Plus razor is small, light weight and easy to hold on to when wet, which is a plus .It lasts longer than some other razors on the market (I just threw away my old one and it was 3 years old )This product holds up well when droppped in the shower. It doesn't fall apart or break like some razors do.The blades stay very sharp for a long time too, which means less cost for replacements. in my opinion, every woman should at least try the Schick silk Effects Plus razor and judge for themselves.

The Schick Silk Effects Razor works well.

4

I bought the Schick Silk Effects Razor because it is less expensive and has less expensive replacement blades than most of the other razors that I saw. It does a good job. It has a small ergonomically designed handle. It does not clean as easily as some razors because it doesn't have the open back. It comes with a suction cup holder to stick it up on the wall. After a while it falls off and you have to keep putting it back up. The replacement blades come in packs of 5 instead of 4 like many razors. Another reason I got it is because my teenage daughter uses a different kind and she doesn't confuse it with mine like she did when I used the same kind that she did. The one I have came with a flowery designed handle which I thought was attractive and feminine. It's not a real upscale razor with fancy lotions, but it is a good razor for the price. Replacement blades for some razors will nearly drive you to the poor house. I feel better knowing that I am getting the replacement blades for a more reasonable price.

Schick Silk Effects long lasting

4

I  have been using this razor for about 4 years now and my over all opinion is that it's a good bargain, the razor itself is durable and easy to grip which allows for as of uses which has resulted in very few nicks and cuts over the years. The caddy/holder which holds both the razor and the spare blades does have suction cups that enable you to affix it to the shower wall but I personally fined that the spare razors blades tend to get a film on them do to that green strip at the top if you do so and if you remove the spares from the caddy/holder the razor will fall out so I keep mine on the side of the bathtub which is separate from my shower. The razor and the caddy/holder are both also very easy to clean which I do about once a month in very hot water with just a little bleach. Now the Blades can be expensive and hard to find but they do seem to last a long time and are as good as any other disposable blades the I've ever used.

Great 2 blade Schick Silk Effects Razor!

4

For a 2 blade razor, this Schick Silk Effects works great! I have thick hair, and these 2 blades shave them down to the skin. The blades have an aloe strip on it, so it leaves your skin silky smooth. What I love about this razor, is that it comes in several colors with art work on them. Mine is purple with flowers and butterflies. I really like the curved design so your hand can comfortably grip it. WIth also having a rubber texture so it does not slip out your hand. The razor blade is easily discharged for replacement. There is no accidently discharging it before you want to. At the top of the razor body, there is a grooved piece that you push forward to release the blade. To put the replacement blade on, you do the same motion. You push that lever forward and carefully insert the new blade cartridge. This is a little more difficult because you have to make sure you put the metal prongs in the correct place of the new blade. I do find that you have to replace the blades sooner than I thought I would have to. This is the only reason I gave it a 4star instead of a 5. Overall it's a great razor!

Schick Silk Effects Razon

4

I purchased this razor at my local drug store about two months ago for my own personal use. I am really happy with the results that this razor has given me.  First off the price was reasonable and affordable and I bought it in a package that came with the razor with a blade attached and the package also included three extra replaceable blades.  The razor cuts very well and I am happy with the results.  Changing the blades on the razor is a simple process and very easy to accomplish.  I have never had any problems changing out the blades.  I feel that the blades last for a long amount of time and Im able to use a single blade longer than other razors I have used In the past. I have only had trouble with this razor when tring to shave really fine hair then it seems to take a little bit more effort but in the end the results are desirable.  I would reccommend this product to anyone looking to buy a good affordable razor for everyday use.

Schick Silk Effects Plus Razor, not so good for fine hair

2

I tried the razor, I thought the concept was nice and the look would match some of my other bathtub girlie items, but I as disappointed with this razor's performance. It didn't do much for the fine hairs I had, If I shaved any closer I am sure I would have cu myself, It did fell smooth on my body, but it was not removing my body hair. My body hair was not thick, or "behind" so to speak, it was my routine shave, nothing I needed to catch up on, so I will try again, maybe wait a extra day or two, but so far, no luck with a positive, clean shave. Did nothing for my pubic hair, knees, etc, and you can not press too hard on those spots without fear of cutting for sure, so not happy with this razor and certain trouble areas. Also did nothing for arms, legs, and ankle area.

Not impressed

3

I try to buy less expensive razors since we seem to go through them so much in our household. I really was NOT impressed with this Schick razor. I have a tendency to be brand loyal sometimes, but this time I'm switching. This razor felt dull from the first time I used it. I even tried to switch blades. I had a lot of really nasty razor bumps or razor burn. I also had a lot of ingrown hairs afterwards which made it really painful for me the next time I wanted to shave. Not to mention that it's unsightly. When using a different kind of razor the next time around, I did not have have the same problem. I can say that I will definitely not buy this kind of razor again. I do not believe it was just a bad batch of razors either. I really hope Schick improves their razors because I would like to pay a better price (that they offer) for razors instead of something rather expensive. I am not sure what made it go downhill since July, but I'll be sticking with Bic for now.

Always come back to the Silk Effects razor!

5

I have tried lots of different razors, buying the newest and most improved when they're advertised and I always come back to the Schick Silk Effects Razor! I've not been able to find any razors that work as well or are as comfortable for me to use.  I always get nicks and cuts with other razors and the Silk Effects always keeps me from nicking myself with the wire blade guards. The razors also have a green strip across the top of them that I think is some type of moisturizing strip, but it helps me to know when to replace my razor before it starts painfully tugging on my hair.  When the green strips starts to wear out I replace the razor and don't have to deal with the blade getting too dull and not cutting properly.  I love the price of the blade refills, they are much cheapers than other brands and types of razors! I always get a nice clean, smooth shave with this razor... with other brands I always found that I missed spots or ended up cutting myself making me not feel very pretty. The Silk Effects razor is just the best in my mind, it works well, is priced right and has all the fancy details that I need!

Schick Silk Effects Plus Razor - My favorite Razor

4

This is my favorite razor of all time.  It's not perfect, but I prefer it over the rest.  I rarely get cut with it, and my most recent cut from this razor was due to the fact that I had been using a different razor for a while and when I switched back to the Shick Silk Effects Plus razor, I had apparently falsely glorified it in my mind, thinking I didn't need to be as careful when using it as I should have been!  It allows me to move quickly over large, smooth areas (e.g., shins, calves) while requiring a bit more attention to bumpier areas (e.g., knees). The razor is somewhat ergonomically shaped and is purple and pearl in color.  The blades (mine has 2 blades) are wrapped with about 10 tiny wires.  I suspect these wires are what give the razor the benefits which cause me the like it so much. It seems like I regularly drop this razor in my shower.  It's not uncommon for the cap AND blade to disassemble from the handle when dropped.  This would be an area that I wouldn't mind to see some improvement.

works well

4

I have used this razor for a long time, because it works well, is basically indestructable, and you are less likely to cut your leg half open when using it that most other razors. I like the wires around the blades, they are not infallible, but what cuts I get are much more minor.  The blades are pricey, but there is no reason to change razors, since all blades cost too much. I like the feel and design of this razor, it fits well in my hand and doesn't fall to the shower floor because it gets too slippery.  Replacing the blades is quite easy, and they are kept quite clean in their little case. The blades have to be changed quite often, not because they they get dull, but because the wires lead the blades to retain a lot of hair, this razor would probably be best for a young girl, who is just learning to shave, so that she didn't end up with permanant scars on her legs to remember for all time the joys of learning to shave!
