Schick Intuition Plus Razor Review

I can't remember where I requested this free sample, but I received a Schick Intiution Plus razor and cartridge in the mail as a freebie.  I was intrigued by the design of this razor, as it has a built in skin-conditioning solid shave stick.  With the Schick Intuition Plus, there is no need to use a shave cream or gel, as everything you need is built right into the system.  The razor blades are surrounded by the solid shave stick, and when it becomes when it is supposed to lather up. 

Assemblng the razor and cartridge was a snap.  Literally.  Just pop on the cartridge and you're ready to shave.  My cartridge was scented with milk & honey and smelled refreshing and not perfumey.  I liked the feel of the razor handle, as is ergonomically designed and is easy to grip.  The razor is wider than any other razor I've ever used, and a little bulky, but I didn't mind it.

When I shaved my legs with the Schick Intuition Plus, the first thing I noticed was that I didn't get that lather that I get with a shave cream.  I had to really get the solid stick wet and move it around a lot before I began noticing anything, and even then it wasn't much.  Also, I didn't feel that I was getting a close shave because the solid stick just felt in the way.  However, I did feel that the razor was very easy to hang on to, even when it was wet, and I did like that.

After I was done shaving, my legs felt like they were on fire!  I looked down, expecting to see bright red bumps, but there were none.  My legs did feel very irrritated though, and I had to soothe them with lotion. 

I don't feel that I got a very close shave with the Schick Inutition Plus.  It seemed that the hair on my legs grew back faster than usual.  For the sake of this review, I used the razor a second time to see if my legs would have the same reaction.  It wasn't as bad the second time, but it was still there.  My thinking is that my legs are just not getting enough of the "conditioning" ingredient from the solid stick. 

Bottom Line.....I prefer using a regular razor and shave cream.  I may continue using the Schick Intuition Plus until my free sample is gone, but I don't think I'll be buying it again.  I researched the price of this product, and felt that it was ridiculously expensive.  For a razor and cartridge, I found a price of $ 10.00.  Then, for the refill cartridges, the price was $ 12.00 for a six pack!  It's my opinion that the price is way too high for what you receive, therefore, I'm not able to recommend it.
