Schick Intuition Plus Razor —

For many years, I have been a faithful user of the Gillette Venus Razor for Women.  For Christmas, a friend bought me the Schick Intuition Plus Razor and I figured that I might as well try it.  I liked the idea of having the solid shaving cream bar connected to the razor.  Too bad it only lasted through the first shave!

About this razor...

The manufacturer claims that this razor "lathers, shaves, and provides extra moisture to your skin in one easy step".  A skin-conditioning solid encompasses the razor to provide lather for a smooth shave.  The pivoting head allows the triple blades to glide smoothly over curves.  Included are one razor handle, two cartridges, one shower hanger, and a travel cap.

What I think about it...

When I first saw this razor, I was surprised at how big and wide it was.  When I held it in my hand it felt comfortable and was easy to grip.  To activate the skin-conditioning solid, all that needs to be done is wet the shaver.  As directed, I kept my skin and the razor wet as I shaved, pressing gently.  My first shave with this razor was nothing less than awesome.  I really could not believe the great results.  My legs were so smooth and it was much quicker than the conventional way.  The second experience is where it all went downhill.  I expected the same great results but unfortunately, the conditioning solid on the bottom half of this razor head had deteriorated from the first shave to the point where I received several nicks and cuts.  I ended up having to use shaving gel anyway.  I was so disappointed but I figured I would give it a third try after replacing the head with a refill.  It did the same thing and proved to only be good for the very first shave.  For a razor that costs around $10 and refills that will cost you close to $12 for three, only being able to use the head once maybe twice is ridiculous.

My Final Viewpoint...

The Schick Intuition Plus Razor was a total disappointment and I definitely do not recommend it.  Schick had a great idea and if it worked as it did the very first time I tried it, it would have been my new brand.  I am sticking with my Gillette Venus Razor For Women because it hasn't failed me in all the years I've been using it.  I give the Schick Intuition Plus Razor two thumbs down and a 1 star rating.

The intuition plus is a far inferior product to the original intuition. If you can still get your hands on the original intuition razors they last much longer. It seems like the intuition plus is a ploy for the company to save money. How stupid can schick be to make such a fatal business mistake?

I had the same experience, and on my 2nd time the bar started crumbling. I am a Venus user as well, and I figure I will stick to that!

Thanks for the heads up. That's pricey for one good use!

They have a new style now but the shaving cream thing melts the same way. They need to just give it up and try something else. Good review!
