Schick Intuition Plus Razor —

Intro
I've been shaving daily since I was young, and by the next day, I can definitely tell I need to do it again. I need to shave as close as I can so that I don't feel like I need to do it twice a day. I prefer to do it standing in the shower over sitting on the toilet or hiking my leg up onto the sink. I tried the Schick Intuition razor when it first came out, but the price and speed at which the cartridges were rendered unusable had me only using it on pool days, short skirt days, and vacation days. Seeing the Intuition Plus razor in the store, I thought maybe I was ready for an upgrade, and hoped maybe some of those things I didn't like would be changed.

The Razor

Right out of the package, the Schick Intuition Plus razor was immediately better, and that was in the shape. With the old incarnation of this razor, it felt like I was shaving with a deck of cards, an extremely odd shape to shave with, and somewhat cumbersome for my smaller hands. With a longer, much more narrow handle on it, it improved the handling immensely.

Around the triple blade on the cartridge is a soap/lotion in solid form. As you shave, it lathers up to save you a step, and there's something about the soap/lotion cushion of the cartridge that allows me to get close to the bikini area comfortably. However, the bottom side of it that runs against your skin runs out sometime between a week or two of daily use, while the top half of the cartridge still has all its soap/lotion. It makes me wish I could rotate it or something, as it seems like such a waste to throw it out with the blades not dull and half of the lotion/soap still left on it. There's a few different cartridges to choose from, such as sensitive skin, advanced moisture with shea butter, and soothing moisture with milk and honey.

The Shave Experience
This newer version delivers the same close shave as the previous version. My skin is always very smooth after shaving, no matter where it is that I'm shaving. Using this, I've never felt later on in the day that perhaps I should shave again.

Conclusion
While I love the new handle, I'm still only going to use it for when I need that close shave. With the cartridges running out between a week and two weeks, and a package of three refills costing around $10, it's just too much for every day use.

I think the shape on the handle was meant for "other purposes" . ha ha !

When I bought it, it was on sale, and it was $8.

How much is the unit?

I liked the old one but the white stuff ran out in two or three shaves and left me with a raw blade. And the handle was nuts. I should try this new version. It sounds like they worked out the kinks - except the melting white junk kink. There has to be some answer for that.
