Flowers are always pretty pricey so make sure it is the best

Pros

    easy to understand pricing, huge facility, premade choices, design staff on premises, both silk and real flowers, can match almost any theme or color, prompt delivery

Over the past several years, I have had many opportunities and occassions requiring the various services of a florist.  Schaeffer's is my choice above all others.   I have had them make corsages and buttonaires to coordinate with a wide range of formal, semi-formal, and even quirky attire, and the ladies never bat an eyelash-not even the year that my son and his girlfriend did a somewhat 1920's gangster/flapper theme for homecoming, which was topped off, with of all bizarre touches, kelly green converse high top shoes???   I was amazed at the ladies creativity and originality, and contrary to my fears, it didn't cost me an arm and a leg and my younger child sold to science as an experiment.  I have ordered silk flower arrangements as well as live floral pieces, and both are of equally high quality and care.  (One year my son and his date wanted black roses on silver leaves)  I have also used them (they are affiliated with FTD) to ship items all over the country for weddings, funerals, anniversary, graduation, and get well occassions.  I have done floral arrangements as well as some fabulous live plants ( particularly lovely Christmas cactus at the holidays that actually did bloom again instead of die out, and Easter lilies that actually took to being transplanted permanently into a garden to bloom year after year)   I have also had the arrangements customized with mylar ballons, peacock feathers, and host of other decorative and non-plant items.   They have a catalog of stock choices, but they can create almost anything you can imagine.  Everything from them has been on time, and in excellent condition.  I knew what I would be paying up front, and never a surcharge or extra fee beyond the original order agreement.  They even call you to alert you that your items are ready for pick up or that they have indeed shipped as per your instructions.  I can't say enough good things about this place.  The greenhouses are huge, and they also have a full garden center with everything from patio furniture to archways, trellises, lawn ornaments, and every sort of plant, bush, tree, appropriate to our region of the country as well as all the supplies to successfully plant and grow them. It is more pricey than alot of garden places, but the first rose bush which I bought from them is still thriving in my garden 21 years later despite the efforts of enthusiastic children and rampaging dogs.  I even go there for my mulch products because they are exactly as advertised without alot of weed filler and materials ground up other than what is on the label.   This is a great place if you just want great flowers for an occassion, but also if you want to create great flowers in your home and yard.   They even have the staff to help and advise, and probably the best garden seedlings for veggies and fruit that I have ever come across.   The only thing that prevents them getting a perfect score is that you almost have to reserve them to special occassions only, because it is rather expensive, but you do get full value for the money spent.
