I have been using the Sauder Shoal Creek Panel TV Stand to hold my 42" LED flat screen and it has served its purpose. I was shocked that this stand is comprised of a lot of pieces, but it's easy to assemble. While putting the stand together I noticed that the cable slots were too small to accommodate all of my cables so I decided to forgo installing the back panel. Because I didn't install the back panel it made the stand less sturdy. This wasn't an issue for my 15 pound TV, but my 40 pound plasma TV would cause the stand to sway when touched. The adjustable shelves provided me with enough space to load all of my electronics while maintaining organization for a clean look. The drawers are roomy and open/close smoothly, but the screws that hold the knobs in place constantly work themselves out. I find myself tightening the knobs at least once a week. Despite its questionable stability I would recommend the Sauder Shoal Creek Panel TV Stand for light weight Televisions.

I am a fan of the affordability and style of Sauder. We are the budget-furniture types and this is good furniture for the price. I also like the other pieces that are available in this particular "Shoal Creek" collection. Like all Sauder and other put-it-together-yourself pieces, this does take some time and effort to put together. The project was not as time consuming as other pieces we have put together though. Sauder does its best to clearly convey how to put the piece together. The quality is pretty good and I like the contemporary, stylish look to the TV Stand. It looks good; it has held up well, too. I like that this piece, in the future, could be useful for other things if we change around our living room. I can see it being used for craft storage or in a secondary television space. I love this espresso color and have found that it remains essentially the same in their various other pieces labeled as this shade. The legs are sturdy. The top of the television stand looks good. We are happy with the piece.

I have had this TV stand for 3 years and two moves and I must say I am quite impressed by how well it has held up considering I have had past negative experiences with Sauder brand products and their durability. However, this little compact tv stand has withstood the test of time and transporting. I love the deep brown color of this stand as it fits perfect with most any color scheme. We had originally bought it when our living room was furnished with earth tone colors and it looked wonderful then. We then bought a whole new retro living room set with deep reds and blacks amongst other deep colors and because the Sauder Shoal Creek TV Panel Stand is such a dark brown finish it appeared black when put in with the deep colored retro furnishings. My other favorite quality about this TV stand is its compact yet accommodating size. I say this because it's compact in all the right places and measurements. The top is the perfect size for our 32 inch flat screen paneled TV and the shelves and drawers are the perfect sizes for our cable box, DVD player, gaming console and then plenty of space for our DVD and game collections along with the (what I like to call) odds and ends drawer. If and when this stand breaks down or loses it's luster, I will be replacing it with the exact same stand.
