I was looking for a economical desk for my daughter's college room and this proved to be a very wise decision. It was very easy to assemble with easy to follow directions. There also was online help in addition to the in box instructions for assembly. Even though we did not put the desk together in the order the instructions used, it still turned out great and was assembled correctly. This is not the first Sauder item we have purchased and that is why we felt confident that this product would meet our expectations for a durable product that would stand up over time. One of the things we like best is the extra shelf to keep items off the main level and in safe keeping. The drawer for the keyboard is very handy because we all know that it is very important to have the keyboard at the correct level. So all in all, we are very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a small economical desk.

After shopping around for a new computer desk, I decided to purchase this one. It was smaller than the one I was currently using but that is what I wanted. I got this desk for the very low price of around $50. You wouldn't guess that after looking at the finished product. It looks very nice. For being a smaller desk, it's still roomy enough to hold my rather large computer monitor, printer, and tower just fine. It also has a slide-out keyboard shelf. Assembly was fairly easy and the instructions were clear. You won't regret buying this computer desk.

I needed a new desk for my home office to minimize the clutter that can pile up on an oversized one.  As a college student, I live on a very limited budget, which is why the Mainstays 404264 by Sauder was a great choice.  It fits my computer, monitor, printer and external hard-drive, plus has a pull-out keyboard tray and even a storage cabinet.  Although it's laminated particle board, it looks and feels very quality and is extremely sturdy!  The directions are also very easy to follow, and unlike many assemble-it-yourself furniture pieces, all the parts match up perfectly.  The manufacturer even included some extra screws in the event that you drop and lose some. I purchased this desk at Walmart, after extensive comparisons.  The price, at $49, is hard to beat; I couldn't find anything that compared for under $60!  Some downsides, it will hold up to a 17" CRT monitor, but you will be left without desk space.  It was no worries for me though, as I was already planning on upgrading to a flat-panel LCD.  This desk holds a 20" widescreen LCD flat-panel with room to spare; my guess is that the max you could put on it would be a 22" although one that size will seem very large!  Another issue, is that because it is particle board, this won't survive flooding or hurricanes, but if that's not a concern, or if you're like me and can't afford the higher quality furniture, this desk is a great buy!
