The Sassy 'Me in the Mirror' is a great toy that can be used either in the crib with baby, or as a tummy-time toy to help build muscles. The mirror in this Sassy toy is built to inspire your little one, and provide them with a lot of fun that is offered in a safe fashion. This is one of those toys that are geared towards the inquisitive baby, which is both interactive and easy for the baby to use by themselves. It is intended to be a toy that is encouraging your baby to explore her different senses, and has many useful tools that can help your baby work their way through developmental stages.
The mirror is made of a safe reflective surface (not glass) that can take a lot of grief and still stand up to your baby. It allows your baby to see themselves, and try to figure out what they are seeing in the reflection. It also sparkles under light, giving it a lit feeling that babies love to stare at when they are first developing. It works both in the crib as well as outside of it, and entices your baby to lift their head in order to see into the mirror. This can help strengthen their neck muscles and make it easier for them to raise their head. This is an important stage for any baby, and this can be very helpful in speeding up this phase. On all sides of the mirror are toys to play with as well, with some that crinkle, some that are for teething, and some that are geared to interact with their hands.
On the back of the Sassy Mirror is a hook-up for your MP3 player, with a little slot that will hold your player while it is being used. But that is just another added feature that makes this a really great toy for the baby to have. This mirror has worked best for us when we are trying to get the baby to work on her neck muscles while on her stomach, as she really wants to sit up to see the mirror. It has been helping her a lot, and she really loves being close enough to grab the toys on the sides of the mirror to play with them. This is one of those great interactive toys that take very little assistance for the parents, but is equally fun to watch the baby use. We highly recommend having one of these around, and this one was a purchase we were glad to make.
