Sassy MAM Air Pacifiers —

Pass the Passy...

When my daughter was born, I wasn't sure if I wanted her to use pacifiers. My initial concern was that they'd interfere with her nursing habits. But after hearing "Waah Waaah Waaaaaaah", and nursing for hours on end, only to discover my baby piranha was asleep...Let's just say, I changed my outlook a little.

Most pacifiers we tried had large mouth guards and caused awful rashes on my daughter's face and cheeks. As she would use the pacifiers, her saliva would pool around the mouth guard and irritate her already sensitive skin.

Passy Please?!

The MAM Air Pacifier was literally a breath of fresh air. MAM's unique, innovative design, features a latex or silicone nipple that's suspended between a thin framed mouth guard. The design looks (to me) like a dog biscuit shaped steering wheel. There's a large air vent that completely surrounds the nipple, allowing maximum air flow while the pacifier is in use. The thin guard narrows in the center to keep the pacifier "core" (which contains the nipple) stationary to prohibit swallowing. The latex/silicone nipples have a symmetrical, bulb-like design, so there's no "wrong way" to use them. MAM Airs are incredibly durable and you'll replace them because they smell bad long before your child will ruin them. My daughter's been through 16 MAM Airs in the last two years, not from damage, we just lose them!

Pimp My Passy!

MAM Airs come in a wide variety of colors, styles, and some even include phrases. We have the perfect MAM to match every outfit! MAM's come in packages of two, and are often accompanied by complimentary MAM pacifier clips. The pacifiers are enclosed in re-usable/re-sealable clear plastic storage cases and are fairly priced around $4.00 a set. The manufacturer recommends boiling the pacifiers before use for sterilization and safety sake. But be careful when washing with soap or sterilizing, there's a small valve located in the base/center that will occasionally draw water inside the nipple. The trapped liquid is easily remedied by allowing the pacifier to air dry, or, you can pull a "me" move and shake it like heck 'cause babies hooting for passy!

MAM Air Pacifiers have been a wonderful alternative to thumb sucking, and I've never regretted the decision to introduce my daughter to using a pacifier. Of course every child is different, and ultimately you have to determine what's best for their needs.

Hopefully, after two years of religious use, we'll soon be parting with "passy"...Either way, using MAM's was the perfect plan.

My oldest child loved his pacifier. The only way we could get him to give it up was to snip off the top. That way, he could still hold it but quickly wasn't satisfied and gave it up.

My oldest loved his Blue Bear (pacifier). The youngest though . . . as soon as he figured out it had no food, he'd pop the pacie out and howl. I hadn't thought about that in years. I enjoyed the review and agree that pacifiers can be a blessing.

We never did pacifiers but we had one 3-finger sucker until the orthodontist said she had to stop! jo

I could not agree more. My daughter uses these too. I definitely caved in the middle of the night. :)
