Relieves Itchy irritation fast

I am not sure if my itchy skin is from dry weather, aging or a combination of many things but sometimes nothing will stop the itch. Even after lathering lotions on. I found this lotion and decided to try it. I have not been disappointed. I do not use this every day. It is a bit costly. I use it when I am itching and nothing else helps. It is miracle cream in the fact that my itching stops immediately. Ah Relief!!!! I am so very thankful that I found it and decided to give it a try. I have recommended this lotion to many people already and will continue to do so. I like the feel of it on my skin. It has a neutral scent to it so it isn't offensive. I like the soothing feel to it. Other lotions do not have quite that feel to them. I also like that I can find this lotion in regular stores and do not have to go out of my way to purchase it. I definitely use more of this lotion in the winter than in the summer. Give it a try. You just might be pleasantly surprised as I have been.

Anti Itch Treatment

As a lifelong sufferer of exzema and extremely sensitive skin I am always searching for over the counter treatments for the above mentioned skin conditions. Suggestions from a co-worker brought me to this product. I was apprehensive because of the price point, but I had read positive reviews of the product and decided to try it. Upon applying it to my chapped hands I was surprised at the strong medicinal scent of the product. This lasted throughout the day even after a handwashing. While the scent didn't seem to harm my skin, I was disappointed in the strong scent. Secondly, I found the consistency of the product to be a wee bit thick. It took several minutes for the product to fully absorb into my skin. I took this as a negative as I need to reapply cream quickly throughout my busy day and often don't have time to rub this in for several minutes. This was not an issue at nighttime but did bother me a bit throughout the day. Lastly, I truly did not feel that this product improved my dry skin as much as it claims. I did use the entire bottle and still had the same amount of dryness and chapping. While no cream can create a miracle I felt for the price paid I should have seen an improvement in my skin's moisture. Creams which cost half the price of this product provided me with just as much if not more relief.

Stinky, but works!

I am just starting PUVA treatments for my psoriasis. It's where you put on the skin to be treated (or take orally) psoralen which is a UV sensitizer and expose your skin to measured amounts of UV-A light. My hands got sunburned and are quite tender. My phototherapy specialist suggested I buy Sarna Original lotion for the pain. It has camphor and menthol as it's main ingredients. Those ingredients help with the sting of sunburns, itch from allergies and poisons like poison ivy and oak, bug bites, etc. I really like Sarna, except for it's horrible smell. It lingers for a long time on my hands. It really works to take the sting out of my sunburn though. So I'll continue using it, for sure. It's supposed to be good for eczema and psoriasis so that is good, too. I recommend it.

OH WHAT A RELIEF IT IS

WHEN I SAW THE PRICE I WAS A BIT DISCOURAGED BUT AFTER WALKING INTO A PUBLIC AREA THAT HAD NEWLY CUT LAWNS AND PESTICIDES SPRAYED, I WAS THANKFUL I HAD BOUGHT IT. THIS LOTION GIVES IMMEDIATE RELIEF AND DOES NOT REQUIRE DROWNING YOURSELF IN IT. PLUS NOW YOU CAN GET IT SCENTED OR UNSCENTED. THIS IS A PRODUCT EVERY PARENT OR OUTDOORS LOVER SHOULD KEEP IN SUPPLY.

Great for regular itching

Sarna was recommended by our dermatologist when my daughter was diagnosed with brachial radial pruitis. This is an uncommon condition which causes very intense itching, usually in the middle of the night. Heat and sun exacerbate the condition, so in the summer she also has itching during the daytime, although it is not as intense as the nighttime itching. She used the Sarna during the day, and it did a good job of helping soothe the affected area. However, the Sarna was no match for the intensity of the nighttime itching. The only thing that would relieve that was putting ice on the area to numb it. I have used the Sarna for sunburns and insect bites, and I have been pleased with the results. I am not thrilled with the smell, but it isn't too bad. I can definately put up with the smell for good results. I can recommend Sarna without reservation for people with common itching problems, but it may not be enough if you have severe itching. It is definately worth a try, however!

Works but could do without the smell!

This is a good lotion for severely itchy skin, and ailments like sunburn, bug bites, poison ivy, or the like.  It also helps with skin that is only itchy during the winter dry season. The lotion itself is cool and comforting. It's not at all greasy. A very little bit goes a long way for me. It does a good job of moisturizing and feels pleasantly cool going on. My main complaint about this lotion is the smell.  It has a strong camphor/menthol/medicated odor that sticks with you long after you put it on.  It's almost unbearable for me sometimes, but when I get particularly itchy or need to combat one of the ailments it's suited for, then I have to suck it up and deal with the smell. As an upside, it DOES work to relieve the ailments it professes to.  It is slightly expensive, but given that you don't need to use much at a given time, one single bottle will last an awful long time.  Just make sure your significant other doesn't disown you for smelling like a medicine cabinet!
