Sarah Jessica Parker The Lovely Collection Dawn Review

Sarah Jessica Parker has come out with a new line of fragrances called The Lovely Collection.  The collection includes three different Eau De Perfume sprays and matching body lotions.  I don't really buy a lot of perfume for myself, but I have a relative who is really in to trying all the new perfumes.  She happened to buy this perfume in a set with the body lotion.  She did not like it all that much and asked if I wanted it.  I was curious about it of course so I said sure.  So she gave me the set which includes the perfume and the body lotion.  She paid about $58.00 for the set, so of course she would rather give it away rather than throw it out.

The perfume comes in two different sizes a 2.5 fluid oz size and a 1 oz fluid size.  The 2.5 oz size sells for around $58.00 by itself so my relative actually got a deal getting it with the lotion.  The 1 oz size sells for about $38.00.  i would not personally spend that much on any perfume.

The bottle is very pretty.  The inspiration of the product is morning and orchids.  The bottle is designed on the outside with a orchid design, but it is in a light blue color.  The bottle is really pretty .  Very flowery and the color is lovely.  The lid is crystal like.  The perfume comes out via a regular sprayer.

The fragrance is a combination of Orchids, citris cocktail, Violet leaves, angelica, tahitian vanilla, and translucent musks. 

I am surprised that anyone would want to use orchids in a perfume, they are a beautiful flower, but the really don't smell that great.  I was unpleasantly surprised by the smell of this perfume, and knew immediately why my generous relative did not like it.  To me it smells like a combination of lviolets and bug spray.  It is very sharp smelling, very strong, and my nose pickes up on the violets, but the overwhelming bug spray smell kind of takes over.  Of course it is ot always fair to judge a perfume until you actually wear it so i put it on, with 10 minutes I was getting an aweful headache.

the bottle is really pretty, but that can not make up for the fact that this just does not smell that great, is very over bearing, and is expensive to boot.  It may be fine for some, but not for me.  I am not going un-recommend it because I believe fragrance is a matter of taste, but this is not my cup of tea.
