To the Point
When on the Atkins Diet cheese is a staple because it has few carbohydrates. String Cheese is one of my favorite types of cheese to buy. I recently tried Frigo Cheese Heads String Cheese.
A Closer View
I look at the carbohydrate numbers and will buy the cheese that says <1 grams which Cheese Heads made by Saputo tells us on the package.
You'll find this in 12 and 24 packs. I bought a 24 pack for around $7.00. These are great to take as snacks. This is one reason I buy them on top of how much fun they are to eat. You'll notice that the package that the stick of cheese is in is not impossible to open. I've had to cut packages in the past. Cheese Heads' plastic gets split on the top. It might be hard for someone with arthritis but for kids it would be a cinch. I'm not a kid but I think it's fun to eat string cheese.
Some of you may never have heard of string cheese. It's cheese that gets peeled from the top to the bottom in think strings. If I get too big of a piece width wise I can just peel pieces off, eat it as is or split it in two.
The kind I got (Their website is quite cute http://www.frigocheeseheads.com) is low moisture part skim milk mozzarella cheese. I like cheddar cheese or Swiss cheese when eating cheese by itself but I'm not going to rate this down because mozzarella isn't my favorite type of cheese.
Each package has 80 calories with 6 grams of fat, 3.5 of which are saturated. You'll get 6 grams of protein and virtually no carbohydrates.
Frigo Cheese Heads taste good. I really can't eat more than one package of mozzarella. I find that the taste stays with me and also find it filling enough for a quick snack. I'm giving this 4 stars but next time I will try another flavor.
The ingredients are pasteurized part skim milk, cheese cultures, salt, and enzymes.
