Perfect for those who are hard of hearing

By

from Roanoke, TX

Comments about Sanyo - Katana LX Cell Phone:

I bought this phone over 3 years ago and it's still going strong with just a few nicks from dropping it. This phone has a very long battery life even when you're not using the power save mode. If you do use the power save mode, the screen goes very dull and is hard to see in the sunlight which can be an issue. The volume goes much higher than phones like it and the speaker option works great. Hooks up to my bluetooth wireless earpiece no problem and people can hear me crystal clear on the other end. My grandparents could hear callers on this phone 10 times better than their run-of-the mill flip phone. If you just need a phone for talk and some text, this is perfect. If you text non stop or want to take great pictures this is not the device for you. It was tough to find a car charger but eventually found an option at Radio Shack. The battery tends to heat up when charging in the car or during hour long conversations.

Good value

By

from Kokomo, IN

Comments about Sanyo - Katana LX Cell Phone:

I have had this phone since October of 2008. This is called the Katyana phone. It comes in silver. The neat thing about this flip phone is it has an illumination pad of several colors. When you open and close the phone it lights up.

You can set the colors to match specific callers. For example jane is green and bob is blue.

Then when the phone rings you can tell who it is by the color assigned to them. The voice quatlity is good. Sound quality is good. A good value for the money.

Very Rugid Sanyo - Katana LX 3800 Cell Phone

By

from Fergus Falls, MN

Comments about Sanyo - Katana LX Cell Phone:

**Sanyo - Katana LX 3800 Cell Phone**

**Love this phone!** I accidently put the phone in the washing machine soon after I got it I thought it would be damaged but we baked in the oven to dry it out & it is still working. I did not think it would work anymore I can't believe it's still working. Though, we did have to buy a new battery, Amazing, I think. I have also dropped my phone more then once just keeps on working. I do not use the camera. Do use the Speaker phone, it's ok, but could be improved.

Sanyo Katana LX has a mirrored finish with a translucent LED display showing the time or incoming caller ID. In addition to Sprint Vision services for surfing the Web and downloading email, you'll also enjoy GPS navigation capabilities for accessing the optional Sprint Navigation turn-by-turn direction service. Other features include a VGA camera for capturing still images, Bluetooth connectivity for handsfree devices and using your phone as a modem (optional service required), access to personal email and instant messaging services, and up to 4.8 hours of talk time.

the sanyo katana lx phone is alright only if you have every feat

By

from Elkins Park, PA

Comments about Sanyo - Katana LX Cell Phone:

The Sanyo Kantana LX Phone that your looking is a pretty good phone only if you have every single features and your paying for it but if your just for talking and texting then that's really all what the phone is good for but if your all about everything featured in this phone, trust me you'll like this phone and buy it in a heart beat. There's alot you can with this phone like talk, text, email, Voice mail, im and alot more let's see Oh yeah the cool thing about this phone here is that when the phone is close it looks like just a plain phone but when you opend it and then close it there's a screen there and to me I think that's most awsome part about this phone. That is why I ended buying this phone because of one of it's features another was that its has to why to set a voice mail. one is the regular voice mail and the other is in the settings where it lets you voice record and you can set it in a way that when it rings you can't pick it up on time. you can actually hear the person leaving you a voice mail and the best thing about that is if there still talking you can pick it up while there leaving you a message

Sleek Katana by Sanyo, love it!

By

from Riverton, UT

Comments about Sanyo - Katana LX Cell Phone:

I have had my Sanyo Katana LX for a couple of months now and I really like it! It is a small flip phone that fits in any of my pockets in my jeans or purses. I love the fact that it has an external display so that I can see who is calling, what time it is and what the date is before even opening my phone. I also have a blue tooth headset that I had used with my previous phone and it switched to this phone with out any additional help from me. The camera is ok, the only problem I have run into is that I can't export the pictures from my phone to my computer. You have to have a subscription to their email access in order to email it from your phone to an email address. I can always add this but didn't want to spend the extra money each month. It has a large speaker phone button that is very handy when I can't talking with the phone to my ear and don't have my head set available. I switched from a PDA phone and haven't missed it one bit. Very impressed with this phone.

It's shiny and makes phone calls

By

from Greenville, SC

Comments about Sanyo - Katana LX Cell Phone:

When it comes to telephones, I like to keep things simple. Finding a phone that keeps things simple is very difficult these days, and this was the most basic phone I could get for free with my Sprint family plan.

For attempting to be a simple phone, there are more levels of menus than necessary, and there are so many options that are very vague or that people would never need to use. It'd be a lot easier to do what you need to do if these did not exist. However, it is nice that this phone allows you to set utility buttons as shortcuts to whatever you like, in order to escape the need to sort through the menus.

As far as tools go, having a calendar, alarm clock, and stopwatch are all nice to have. A world clock and countdown are also available, but in my opinion, unnecessary.

The "fun frames" option on the camera makes me want to vomit a little.

I do like that you can silence the phone by hitting any button the exterior. I also appreciate the exterior location of the volume control button.
