These batteries last a long time in my digital camera. With disposable batteries, I was only getting a couple dozen pictures before the low battery signal kicked on and shut the camera off. These batteries give me about 100 pictures before they even start to get low. Now I have time to see the battery indicator getting low and remember to recharge the batteries before they get so low the camera just shuts off.
Eneloop batteries live up to their description. When you receive Eneloop batteries, they are already charged. If you charge them and leave them in a drawer for awhile, they are still nearly fully charged when you need them. Other rechargeable batteries have limited shelf life before needing a recharge.
Based on the number of AAA and AA batteries I was going through, these batteries have already paid for themselves in the 8 months I've been using them. As the other batteries in my household start to die, I am replacing them with Eneloop batteries. I also feel good about not throwing so many disposable batteries away. When Eneloop batteries lose their charge, after about 1000 uses, you can have them recycled.
