SanDisk - Sansa m240 (1 GB) MP3 Player Review Summary

MP3 players are offered in many different sizes and capacity levels and one MP3 player that serves as a good starter is the SanDisk Sansa M240 MP3 Player. This MP3 player is inexpensive, uses only a single AA battery, and includes both a radio and voice recorder. These features are popular with reviewers, as evidenced by the comment “Affordable, Compact, and Comes with Great Customer Service”. But the SanDisk Sansa M240 MP3 Player is not perfect, and some reviewers have noted that the program often freezes and the battery doesn’t last very long. Thus, the SanDisk Sansa M240 MP3 Player is a decent MP3 Player for first time users but it may not be suitable for more advanced MP3 users.

Even though I already owned a Creative NOMAD Jukebox Zen Xtra 60GB MP3 Player when I decided to purchase this player, the Creative Zen Xtra is large in size, bulky, and heavy.  In contrast, the SanDisk Sansa m240 (1 GB) MP3 Player much smaller in size, lighter in weight, and generally more portable. ...

SanDisk MP3 players hit the scene in a big way with the 2004 launch of the Digital Audio Player and later the Sansa e100 series. With a motto that could be "Lots of features for less!" the memory giant's flash-based MP3 players appeals to the masses of thrifty consumers looking for deals. Now, the deal... review »

My son is 12 - prime age for the tech gimmies. With his 12th birthday rapidly approaching, I knew he really had his heart set on an MP3 player. Any kind, he said, as long as it had a screen. I was mildly depressed by the size and quality that was available in stores that would still fit our budget. Imagine my delight when I found this lovely player on sale at Woot! for only $13 plus shipping one day during a Woot!Off. (This is a refurb, but it works perfectly.)

First of all, it's the perfect size for a young person. It fits right in the palm of his hand comfortably. It's 1 Gig of internal memory...

Ok so I bought this through a website that offered it for $10.  I got it and immediately loaded it with music. I absolutely love that you just plug it in and start downloading (no software to install).  It holds plenty of music and uses batteries so you don't have to worry about charging it.  The batteries I ahve found will last about 8 hours of continuious play.  It takes 1 AAA battery.  I am actually waiting for the site to put these up again so I can buy a couple more.  My mom loves it and wants one of her own too.  These would make great players for kids too because they are so easy... review »

Well, I purchased two of these little "gems" from Woot.com at $9.99 each and I can't tell you how Happy my partner and I are happy with these little guys.  She doesn't use the unit as much as me but we both enjoy this mp3 and the re-furb issue is moot!!!  I think these are great for the price and it holds much of my required music and pod-casts!!  Woot has been very good in suppling quality merchandise at a real cheap cost!! Wait for the next woot deal!!

This is a simple yet durable MP3 that is great for children/ non-tech savvy/ economically challenged people! It will do the job, and you can feel good about the fact that it is made by SanDisk.

I got this on Black Friday last year for my fiance as a Christmas gift. There was a small learning curve, as we kept forgetting the exact settings it had to be on in order to add songs to the device. Additionally, we had some trouble getting the CD to load on the computer. In the end, we decided to just try existing hardware to add songs -- it worked easily.

It would be nice if this used a rechargeable battery, since my fiance uses it at work every day, but he loves it and has the option of listening to the radio as well as regular MP3s. It holds plenty of music for his taste, and fits easily onto...

The Sansa 1 Gb mp3 player is a great little player without all the bells and whistles. The player is very small at only 3" long and 1" wide. It has a small screen to view options which are : play music, Fm radio, Recorder, settings, information, artists, album, playlist, equalizer, power, play all. The screen lights up in blue when the menu button is pushed so you can read it in the dark. There are stop, forward, reverse butoons as well. It takes a AAA battery which last a surprisingly long time with normal use . The mp3 player plugs in usb port easily and is easy to put music onto the player....

The Sansa m240 is a great mp3 player to buy. It isn't very expensive, and it works great. It is perfect for a first mp3 player. I had one for two years, then i gave it to someone else and it is still working after four years. I never had to replace it or return it. It is small, and easy to use. There aren't a lot of confusing buttons, and the menu is simple. It really does work good, especially for the price. It uses regular AAA batteries, so you don't have to plug it in to your computer, which comes in very handy. The voice recorder and radio also work well. It is also very easy to download music...

This is an excellent choice for anyone still wanting to make the jump from Vinyl Records and CDs to their very FIRST MP3 player.

I owned this littlte item and upgraded to a 4GB MP3 player after...

I would highly reccomend anyone to buy a Sandisk brand MP3 Player, 1GB or at least 2GB when you're new to the MP3 game.

You don't have to spend over 100 Dollars for an IPOD simply for the APPLE BRAND

You can buy a Sandisk MP3 player and save money and use the left over money for other things..

The Sandisk MP3 player is very very very easy to use, you don't even have to read the Manual that comes with...

This product is very easy to use and inexpensive. You do not need the disc that comes with the program to upload music to the mp3 player. You can use another program like windows media player, iTunes, or Music Match Jukebox to upload music to the problem. The problems are the battery depletes fast. There is a lock button to use on your battery so the mp3 wont turn on when not in use; however, the button easily slides and you'll find your mp3 player on when you least expect it. Also, the program that runs the mp3 player has frozen on me several times and I have had to make exchanges.

Overall, it...

This is a pretty good player but it is nothing special.  It is music only so no pictures or videos and it runs on one AAA battery.  The battery life is decent although if you listen to it alot you will be changing the battery often.  You can use media player to upload music which is really easy.  It comes with a clear plastic case which has since started to turn a little yellow but otherwise the player is in as good condition as when I bought it over a year ago.  Scan Disk makes good quality products so if all you are looking for is a relatively cheap player that is easy to use than this is... review »

I received the 512 MB of the same player as a gift, so we ened up buying the 1 GB for my husband.  I am very impressed with the quality for the price, they are much less expensive than an ipod, but work just as well.  This model holds plenty of songs and works great.  The one AAA battery it uses for power lasts for a long period of time.  The earbuds aren't great, but the protective case and armband are!  I have a tiny arm and got it to adjust to fit me.  These go on sale frequently, and I would recommend these to anyone who desires an mp3 player!

This is a basic mp3 player. It's very cheap and follows the "pay for what you get" adage. If I accidentally jar it or drop it, it will turn off. When I turn it back on, it starts at the beginning of my playlist, rather than where it was when it turned off. It's also frozen on me a couple times, and I've had to take the battery out to get it to work again.

That said, it's not a bad player for the money. It holds a good number of songs and can play for a long time without recharging. Despite its downsides, I've been using it for almost a year.

I bought this for my Mom for this upcoming Christmas since she said she wanted an MP3 player.  Being a Married Mommy of 2, I'm not the richest person out there so I was doubtful I'd be able to get her one.  When I can across this, I was pleased with the price.  I read a lot of reviews and decided to get it.  What a great investment.  Of course I had to try it out before I give it to her.  The music sounds great and the radio is clear.  I have to say, I am buying one for myself now :)
