SanDisk - Sansa e260 MP3 Player Review Summary

If you’re in the market for an MP3 player, one popular player that our reviewers recommend is the SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player. This MP3 player offers extra features like the ability to play the radio or play short videos. The SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player also contains a full four GB of space, and reviewers like this because it means the capacity for songs is very high- so high, that most consumers will never reach its limit. The SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player “Sounds Great for Half the Price of an IPOD” and besides the fact that not all radio stations are clear and that you cannot remove preloaded sons, the SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player is a very good MP3 Player that offers plenty of storage for a fair price.

I love listening to music so the Sansa Mp3 player helps me do that easy. All I have to do is download songs and put them into the Mp3 player and listen wherever I go. It is so simple I love how easy it is. I like all the features about it. I can download up to 500 songs. I can also delete as many as... review »

I've had my Sansa e260 for about a year now.  The Sansa e260 is a 4GB MP3 player.  It's a nice size--not too big or too small.  I have a few pictures of my kids, a couple short videos taken with my digital camera, and plenty of music on my Sansa.  I don't use the FM tuner and I haven't tried the Voice Recorder yet, but the options are there if ever I need them.  The screen is a little small, but clear.  The controls are acceptable.  I especially like the lighted circle control.  It's raised and easy to feel even in the dark to change your volume levels.  Some of the other control buttons...

I bought this for my husband and he loves it.  I use it myself occasionally.  It's easy to use and the sound is great.  The earbuds that it comes with aren't all that great, but I haven't ever bought an mp3 player that had great earbuds with it.  I found some good ones for a great price and now the Sansa sounds even better.  One day I went to the sink in the kitchen and found that the Sansa that had been left on the bar above the sink had fallen into a bowel full of water and had probably been there all night.  Of course it didn't work.  The battery was ruined.  I took the back off and... review »

The Sandisk Sansa series of mp3 players is probably the best out there. Simply use Windows Explorer to move media back and forth is simple. It requires no software, like iTunes that makes your pc slow to a crawl and cumbersome to transfer media to your player.

The radio reception is great and the ability to record from the radio or a memo for later is great, too.

To me, the simply of transferring media more than outweighs the lack of playing the mp3 player while connected to a pc. All my music is backed up on my pc anyhow.

We have an e250 and e260 in our house already. I'll be getting one for myself...

I've had this for almost a year and really like it.  Sounds great.  Replaced the included earbuds, which were uncomfortable and not as secure a fit as I wanted, with Skullcandy buds (see my review).  Battery life is great.  Agree with others that the controls are tricky till you get used to them.  Not as thin as my son's iPod, but not at all bulky.   Like having the FM tuner included.  Meets my needs just fine, and at half the price of an iPod, has been a very satisfying purchase.

I  bought this product for myself after buying my husband and daughter IPODs earlier in the year. I compared features and realized this little machine did more with less. There is no propietary issues either. If you want to download music, you don't HAVE to use ITunes.

This baby has 4 gigs of memory which holds a lot of songs. Transferring over music is very simple (even for the non-techie) and the sound quality is terrific.

The bottom line is I wish I had bought a different player.  The E260 has too many quirks that make it frustrating to use.  I have owned it for about 2 years.  The built in rechargeable battery life is down to only a couple hours of use before it needs recharging.  Every 4-6 months or so the player will get a synchronizing error that prevents it's use.  The only correction I have found is to reformat it and start all over.  Doing a web search on the problems indicates that I am just one of many people who have had this problem which isn't a synchronizing or licensing problem at all.  This... review »

I recieved the sansa e60 as a christmas present and at the time i believe it was around $170 for the 4gb version.

pros: has many features:

- fm radio

-video

-photobook

-recorder (can record both voice and radio)

-rhapsody enabled for easy mp3 transfer with service

-scroll wheel, like an ipod

-album covers upload with songs

-custom sound you set yourself

 cons:

-Playlists. This comes with pre-loaded playlists, complete with terribly cheesy names and worse music. if you do not want to subscribe to rhapsody, the only playlist you can set up is the "on the go", which is set from the mp3 player itself and not...

I was attracted to the Sansa e260 when I saw it from a friend of a friend. At the time most of my best friends had iPods, the latest being the nano. The e260 is about half the price of an iPod nano, with 4 gig memory, plus many more features like radio, voice recording, video playing capabilities, etc.
I ordered mine online, which may not have been a good idea because I think mine might have been a return. It works fine still for the most part. The only real downside to the e260 is that sometimes, you lose songs. A song would out of nowhere become a "bad track" and you have to put it in again. Then...

It's small and light, which makes it great for an active user.

The included software works like a charm and drag and drop loading is a snap.

The sound is quite good. I am no audiophile, but I will say that with a decent pair of headphones or ear buds it will come alive with clear highs, solid bass and everything in between. If you are not really happy with the sound there are plenty of EQ presets to satisfy your sound desires.

The screen is pretty good as well. I did not have any intentions to watch videos on it, but now that I have it, I can definitely see myself loading up a few vids to watch...

My husband had gotten into running last year, and for Christmas expressed that he wanted an mp3 player.  I did a LOT of research, read reviews online and spoke with friends who had various different players.  I considered the ipods but when I found out that if you have an ipod/itunes on your computer ... you can't use any other mp3 players with that computer anymore.  That wouldn't have been a big deal except that we have two boys who also LOVE to listen to music and I wasn't going to invest into an ipod for them while they are in elementary school.

The Sansa e260 is SO very easy to use, it...

I purchased this after checking out all my options, and price was a huge factor for me, so that was one of the first things I looked at...

After reading tech reviews and user reviews, this got great reviews and was ranked equal to or most times higher than the iPod!  I picked it up, and haven't been happier since.  The controls are easy to use, the sound quality is great, and the battery charge lasts days.

My daughter has a Sansa but a different model.  She was having trouble with her player and I was given the chance to deal with their customer service dept.  I was very happy with the way they...

I bought this one after looking for quite some time for a good mp3 player. I had my previous one for over 3 years and although I loved it, it was time for it to be retired. I am very picky when it comes to mp3 players. They have to be attractive, reasonably priced and come with a memory card slot so I can expand the storage. That is why it took me so long to find a new one, not many mp3s come with expandable storage anymore. I know that I will probably never use up the 4 gigs but it is nice to have the option to expand if I need to. I like that it is small and lightweight so it doesnt weigh me...

I've seen some negative reviews for this product but in my opinion they were exceedingly nit picking. This mp3 player has excellent audio quality and it's easy to use. The video playback is amazing for such a small screen. Converting video files with the included conversion utility is quick and easy.

I also like the expandability. Simply insert a micro SD card and you infinite expansion. Add the reasonable quality voice recorder, the FM tuner with presets, photo shows and you have a solid mp3 player.

The only negatives are small. The included ear buds are just okay. Upgrading is recommended....
