The bottom line is I wish I had bought a different player. The E260 has too many quirks that make it frustrating to use. I have owned it for about 2 years. The built in rechargeable battery life is down to only a couple hours of use before it needs recharging. Every 4-6 months or so the player will get a synchronizing error that prevents it's use. The only correction I have found is to reformat it and start all over. Doing a web search on the problems indicates that I am just one of many people who have had this problem which isn't a synchronizing or licensing problem at all. This player does not have bookmarking capabilities- which makes listening to audio books problematic. The record button is on the side of the player and is very easy to turn on by accident. When this happens you cannot resume from where you left off, with audio books that means starting a chapter over. Chapters can be over 1 hour long. There is a fast forward button, but it is awkward holding it down for such a long period while you try to find where you left off. The fast forward with automatically move to following chapters/songs, but you cannot "rewind" back into a chapter. You would have to start the chapter at the beginning - again! The scroll wheel is loose & has excess play in it. The internal seal is lacking, allowing dust on the inside of the screen. I have yet to figure out how to exit out of radio listening mode without needing to do an extended shut-down. Some of these problems have been resolved with version 2 of the player, but the fixes won't apply to version 1. Version 2 was out when I bought mine, but the packages don't indicate which version you are getting. If I had known at the time I would have returned it immediately.
