I was initially worried because it wasn't an Apple iPod and that's what evberyone else seemed to have. This Sansa was much cheaper than iPods at the time. I got it on sale at Radio Shack last November. Works great on the go. Also works through my car stereo with a $20 transmitter thingy (sorry I don't know what it is called, just ask at radio shack!). I like that this player also holds and plays videos and pictures. I also like that it can record sound with the push of a button and has a voice activation feature to record. This is easy to use for a first time mp3 player owner - like me. It's very small and lightweight. Comes with nice little earbuds, but it you want fancy headphones you'll have to get them separately anyway. I also bought a rubbery (silicone, I think) sleeve type cover/case that fits tightly around it and prevent it from getting bumps and scrapes but does not get in the way of using most of the controls (it does cover up the 'record' button, but it can still be pushed right through the cover, so no problem there!). There is even a hole for the tiny mic spot! If 2GB is not enough room for you, this one has a slot for a micro SD card to upgrade it up to 8GB - I don't even know enough songs to fill this one but I'm sure some of you do! Comes with a lanyard to hang around your neck, but I usually just put it in my front jeans pocket or waist band.
I also like that the round scroller lights up when moved. This little device is just right for me.
