SanDisk - Sansa View MP3 Player Review Summary

What do our reviewers think about the SanDisk Sansa View mp3 player? "This little mp3 player packs a punch!" says one enthusiastic reviewer. Maybe that's because the Sansa View boasts a whopping 20 hours of battery life. Or maybe it's because despite it's tiny size, the Sansa View can hold up to 2000 songs. How's the sound? "The sound is always clear when I am listening to the radio" says one reviewer "and unlike the iPod I can record a song I like from the radio." Be aware, our reviewers warn, that the SanDisk Sansa View is not compatible with all mp3 player accessories, so do a bit of research if you plan on buying one. Want to compare? Go right ahead, we've got lots more mp3 player reviews!

I have always been suprised by Sandisks amazing ability to reach the consumer. Their success with their recent lines of MP3 players just proves that to me all the more. I have both an Ipod and a Sansa, and I am extremely happy with both. The perks of having the Sansa, however, are actually quite numerous. I am especially grateful for the replacable battery, for already I have gone through an Ipod due to dead battery life. Also, the Sansa is extremely user-friendly... I believe quite more so than the Ipods. It is extremely easy to transfer music on and off the Sansa View. I also enjoy the added... review »

I had a 30 gigabyte iPod for the LONGEST time.  In fact, I was one of the first people to have one, I'd say.  Back when iPod's were chunky and not cheap.  I got another one after that.  I had 7,000 songs on there on a regular basis and I listened to about 200, tops, at a time.  Also, the battery died before the end of my work day (when the mp3 player was only 2 years old, which I thought was absolutely ridiculous).  My boyfriend suggested the much more compact and CHEAPER Sansa family to me and boy am I glad!  They picture is just as amazing, you can still put videos and pictures on there,...

I have always hated IPod!  I promised myself I would NEVER buy one.  What I like about Sansa View is the price!  It costs way less than a IPod or a Zune.  Plus every SanDisk that I have ever seen has a SD card slot to add additional memory instead of wasting money on a new MP3 player.  The Sansa View is great fro getting the job done.  Compatiable with Napster.  Displays videos & photos, along with having a built in FM radio.  The LCD screen is very easy to read.  If there is a song or something on the Sansa View that you no longer want you don't have to plug the View into the computer... review »

Pod is a brand of portable media players designed and marketed by Apple Inc. and launched on October 23, 2001. As of 2008, the current product line-up includes the hard drive-based iPod classic, the touchscreen iPod touch, the video-capable iPod nano and the screenless iPod shuffle. Former products include the compact iPod mini and the spin-off iPod photo (since re-integrated into the main iPod classic line). iPod classic models store media on an internal hard drive, while all other models use flash memory to enable their smaller size (the discontinued...

I have had my sandisk sansa view 16 gb mp3 player for two weeks and I cannot believe how much I love it.  It is small and compact, but the features are fantastic.  The large color screen makes it easy to view pictures - it saves up to 9,000.  It also saves up to 9,000 songs.  I am an avid audio book listener and I have nine books saved and there is still more memory than I can use.  I downloaded a complete movie and watched it and the screen was large enough that I could see all the action that went on.  I love the feature of running my thumb around the toggle switch to choose the function...

Do you love music? I certainly do and I like to be surrounded by the kind of music I like. I never thought I would want one of these MP3 players but it is so small, light and easy to carry around. It's my constant companion during the day! I use it every day when taking my early morning walks. It helps to motivate me to do my daily walks and other chores. It is easy to charge, just connect to the computer for 3 1/2 hours and it is fully charged for another 20 hours of play time! I liked the price~so much less than the iPod but just as nice or maybe even better! I am a savvy shopper and... review »

I've owned a Sandisk Sansa for a couple years now and it has always performed really well.  The Sansa has all the features you would need...You can sort music by song title or artist.  There's shuffle mode and playlist mode.  I have rarely used the video option but when I have, it looks great.  I like that there is an am/fm tuner on it, as well.  That's a feature missing on other popular music players.  My only problem has been that the earbuds went bad after about a year but they were easily replaceable.  The battery life has been excellent and I hardly have to charge it (I listen to it... review »

After years of using a walkman, then a discman, and now an mp3 player, this is by far the nicest, most user friendly toy i've purchased to date.  the small, thin structure of the player is easy to slip into a pocket, and with the hold key, there's no worry of suddenly blasting ears by mistakenly hitting the volume, or changing this week's favorite song by accident.  the player holds around 2000 songs, so there is no need to constantly change the music on the player.  no special software is required, and only basic computer skills are needed to load music on the player.  EXCELLENT gadget!

I have owned other Mp3 players but this one is the best by far. I have owned an ipod, zune, sony and many more. This Mp3 player loaded my songs faster than any other mp3 player i owned. This is also tough mp3 player, I consitly drop things and i have dropped this three or four and it stills work, I was working on my roof moving tree limbs off and i droped my sansa and i thought I broke it but to be hold when I came down it still worked! The sound is all ways clear even when i am listening to the radio. Unlike the Ipod I can record a song i like from the radio which is brighty cool.

If you like things simple and you download most of you music, this player if for you! This player is easy to use. It's battery life is good (uses one AAA). It is easy to navigate without needing to look at it (like if you have it in your shirt pocket). Has lots of features to play with. It does its job well. Plenty of volume. It displays small pictures too! I have checked SanDisk's web site for any firmware or driver updates and there are zero available. Everything is current as of this review.

I bought a refurbished product a couple of months ago and fell in love with it. The screen is about 2 1/2 inches big, much bigger than a Ipod Nano and even slightly bigger than a Ipod Classic. It has a voice recorder, FM/AM radio, and you can even put video on it (you have to download their converter though). If you use Rhapsody to download music, it will automatically download this thing called "Rhapsody Channels" which plays free music for many different genres.

I bought this sansa mp3 player for my husband because he had broken the previous two that he had due to his construction job.  The other two didn't even last two weeks with him and they didn't hold enough music either!  But with the sansa he has almost had it for a month and a half and it is still working great and holds all the songs he wants.  The only problem is that the battery doesn't last as long as it is supposed to!

This is a great little player with good sound. It fits right into my pocket and I can use it when I am doing yardwork or whatever I am doing. The earpieces are nice and long so that you are not cramped for space or struggling to keep it all together. It has pretty good memory and can hold a lot of songs. You can change the songs in and out pretty easily if there is something that you dont like- dump it and put some new ones on there !!

The Sandisk Sansa is an amazing mp3 player. It offers mp3, video and fm radio playback for a great price. The video quality is vibrant. The sound quality is good too. It also offers record/playback modes, so you can record your own message or whatever you would like.

It also has a slot for an sd chip for extra storage!

I was really surprised at how nice this mp3 player was.

The SanDisk Sansa View MP3 Player is great for those who like to have all their CD's/MP3's available for listening, and are tech savvy enough to be able to convert their movies to MP4's MPEG to carry around with them.  We loaded up an 8GB with several CD's/MP3's as well as 4 full length movies, and there was still a lot of room to add more.
