San Juan, Puerto Rico —

San Juan was a nice little get away. I went down with a few friends in January. The weather was nice, about an average of 80F everyday. The people were very friendly. Most of them spoke english but the ones who only spoke spanish were stil so nice and tried their best to help you. If you needed to cross the road, the second you step up to the sidewalk the cars would just stop!!! Not like the impatient roadragers from home!  Although most of the places we went to looked impoverish like it was still nice when you got to think of the historical parts. Old San Juan was beautiful! Just so amazing. Their was actually a little cathedral type place that was built right on the side of a cliff. So beautiful. We did drive out to The Yunque Rainforest. You park your car and walk through it, but the sights were so great that it was well worth the hike. Waterfalls, and the tower were just fantastic. The only down side to San Juan was that it wasn't like the typical island. It had a lot of places that you wouldnt want to be at night. In fact before we went we were told that you shouldn't be in Old San Juan after dark because it gets a little rough up there. The beaches were nice but the water wasn't as i expected it to be. Not as blue, more like the dirty waters that i'm used to seeing on the east coast. There was a few casinos to go to also.
