Pushing mom up to a bar that doesn't sell cheerleader beer (wine coolers) is usually a struggle. We handed her her own mug of Cherry Wheat and she was impressed.
I suggest stopping the bartender before the jarred cherries land in it. The extra sweetness that they add ruins the last swallows of your pint.
This past weekend I tried it with the top quarter of the pint being Guiness. A black cherry they called it. Just float the Guiness on top. It adds a different texture, and a slight chocolate taste.
