Samuel Adams Boston Lager —

Sam Adams is one of those breweries I look for when I need an inexpensive, refreshing beer. The Boston Lager pours as an amber/copper color with a relatively good, long head. The smell has a light molasses hint mixed with what I could best describe as burnt apple. is crisp with a medium to light body and a fair amount of hoppiness. There is a slight citrus flavor, perhaps orange, and a hint of clove. This is a pretty typical lager, with a malty start, but a surprisingly hoppy finish. Definitely a good party beer, especially if a variety of foods are going to be served. This drinks smoothly and pleases a variety of palattes.
