Samsung - x427m Cell Phone Review

I received this phone as part of a promotion to renew my contract with my cell phone service provider.  I have been mostly happy with this phone.  It is easy to make a phone call.  It has a really strong signal and can get at least extended service in remote areas.  I'm pretty careful with my cell phone, but have dropped it once or twice.  The battery may pop out, but the clam shell seems to be sturdy.  It has profiles that can be set up for certain entries in your phone-book with specific ring-tones.

The menu always opens to MEdia Mall.  This is not a menu item I use and it would be nice to default a menu item used often.  However, there are only 9 menu items so it doesn't take that long to find the right one.

There are too many steps to add a calendar event with an alarm.  If not used often, then it's easy to forget the steps and takes longer to figure out.  If used often, then it could get really annoying going through so many steps.

Whenever the phone is around speakers or regular telephones, it interferes and electronic noise will come out of the speakers or telephones.  Turning the phone off is the only way to stop it.  It's not constant, so it can usually be ignored.

Occasionally, the wrong name appears on the caller ID.  This most often occurs when using call-waiting, caller ID.
