Works and is Durable

4

Of course this is a fairly old phone and compared to the smartphones would receive a much lower score. Still, I would rate this phone a 7 for what it is intended to do. Performance Its an old phone that does what it is intended to do. Call and text (With a number pad of course). Sometimes I receive messages late but that could also be due to my wireless provider. Voice Quality There is a voice recorder on this phone, its fairly clear but could be better Battery Life On a full charge, this phone lasts about 4 days. If Bluetooth is on (phone searching for devices) it lowers the battery life. With frequent gaming it lasts around 1 and a half days. Durability This phone is extremely durable. It has fallen out of my pocket repeatedly and still works. There are scratches and wear marks from these droppings but the phone itself is fully functional. Once I put a packet of syrup in my pocket, where my phone was, and unintentionally sat down. My whole right pocket, along with my phone, was drenched in syrup. I had to take out and clean off the battery. The phone worked when I re-inserted the battery (Thank God). But I wouldn't suggest drenching your phone in syrup to test its durability.

Samsung Smooth is okay but very basic

3

We had to buy new phones when we switched cellular service providers. We were trying to save money and figured we could always upgrade later, so we went with the cheapest phone we could get - the Samsung U350 or Samsung Smooth. If you're looking for a cheap and basic phone, then the Samsung Smooth will fit the bill. It's a flip-style and small enough to carry in a pocket. It does have web access and allows you to text. It has a speaker phone, camera, is blue tooth compatible and has voice commands. The battery charges fairly quickly and it has okay talk and standby time. The Samsung Smooth does have some cons, however. If you're a person who likes to text a lot, this is *not* the phone for you. The buttons are pretty small, so you can't wear any sort of gloves and have to be careful when dialing. The speaker phone quality isn't very good. The voice commands don't work well at all - more often than not I end up with it telling me "I cannot understand your command, please try again" despite speaking slowly, clearly and loudly. It's also not the most durable phone I've ever had. It's survived a couple of falls onto pavement, I'll give it that, but it pits and scratches easily; it'll look like crap if you aren't careful when handling it. Even just carrying it in my purse it's gotten scratched up. Bottom line: it's cheap, basic and will get the job done until we upgrade but it's nothing fabulous.

drop it and it still works!

This is my second samsung phone and I'm super happy that I have it. I am a very busy and outdoorsy person and I usually take my phone with me on all my expeditions (hiking, running, marathons, biking). I have dropped this thing more than 5 times since I bought it and while it looks pretty scratched up and all... it still works like a charm! I can't day that it's all that great in terms of water damage though. I spilled water on my last one and it went out like a fizz. An important note for those of you who use the alarm clock: DO NOT SET THE ALARM CLOCK TO :00 (ex 12:00, 3:00). It will NOT trigger the alarm. I couldn't figure out why it wasn't going off on some mornings- well that's why. I usually choose a digit ending in 7 to be safe...

but I do have a Samsung phone through Verizon and Love it.  I have had my phone forever and have to say that compared to the phones my family members have that the Samsung models, and mainly mine last forever.  I will continue to buy Samsung phones - and I do know that someday soon I will need to replace mine and not looking forward to having to search for a new one.  Way to go Samsung

This Samsung U350 cell phone is a ok phone, for the price of it. You can hear well on this phone, but it is not the greatest phone to text on daily unless you are used to the keyboard. Very easy to bump other buttons while texting or dialing a number. Display on front could read better. This is a cheap phone, and worked ok for the length of time I was on prepaid. I do know that it has very good signal strength on the Verizon Network in most locations. I do know of very few locations in which this phone will not work. I am a gamer, and I love phones with games on them. This phone unfortunately does not come with many games if any at all. All games for this phone are not cheap, but Itwas very easy to find free ringtones online without a monthly subscription fee. This phone does tend to get hot if u chat on it for a while. Battery life lasts anywhere from 3-4 hours on this phone. I am unsure if all are different but I know this one lasts about that long. It is a navy blue if u like blue, but it has a funny shape to the front of it. Speakerphone is not the greatest. If you try to use speakerphone like I constantly did, it sounds very distant and muffled. This phone is also available on certain plans also. ( I am certain Verizon still carries it!) The Volume could be louder on it because even if the phone is not on speaker phone its still hard to hear the person that you are talking to. You can even access the mobile web even if its prepay. The cost is only 99 cents per day for a 24 hour period. I am not sure what purpose this phone would have in your life wether it be for making phone calls, texting, or using mobile Web. Unfortunately it really stinks that you can't get ringback tones for it as you can if you are on a plan. One this phone there is also not a large hole on the bottom of the phone to talk into which is probablly why it is so hard for people to hear and communicate with you. There is no place for a additional sim card, nor is there any place to plug in microphones, or a headset. I can't remember if this phone is bluetooth compatible or not. IT may work better than I have mentioned here if you use bluetooth if its even available. This phone was one of my first phones, and not long after I got it I had to get a replacement from the cell phone company because of having the voices either be muffled on my end or hard to hear and full of static on the other end.Like I have previously mentioned this phone was a ok first phone, but I had so many issues with it I personally got sick and tired of the problems, and other quirks so I switched to a plan. This cell phone is also a good phone for someone that does not use there phone daily ( if on a prepaid plan) I realized after a few years of using this phone that I ended up spending more money in one year than I did on necessities for myself. This phone is unreliable sometimes and would not make a good match for somebody wanting to use it as there primary phone line. This phone would however make a good starter phone for say a teenager or school age child. I also enjoyed the camera on this phone to a extent. It was cool that this phone had a camera but the resolution is very low which made pictures seem unclear and pixelated when blown up. This phone is one of the worst as far as taking pictures because if you want to take pics there is no flash on it, so anything you take a photo of needs to be well lit to make it out. Another advantage is there are some trials available for this phone as far as games but once the trials expire you are expected to buy the games, which if you are not careful can get very costly. This phone also has a lot of basics like all other phones. IT includes a alarm clock but you can only set three alarms at a time. There is also a calender function to keep important dates at the top of your schedule and a calculator function which makes figuring things out a whole lot easier. This phone was my first phone but yet I don't think it was worth the money, because Ive came across a lot of difficulties and things that just irritate me on it more than anything. Im so glad that I quit using this phone when I did, because if I was still using it I'd either have gone crazy by know or I wouldn't be texting daily. One more advantage is that this phone does not weigh a lot like some of the other phones I have held.IT is also a pain to open in a hurry one handed. One more disadvantage is the cases that are made to hold this phone make it more of a challenge to actually use it because it does take time to take it out of the case and open it. By the time you take the phone out of the case your caller has already hung up or left you a voicemail.I think the makers of this phone couldve made a better job with the creation aspect.

The Samsung Smooth is a good entry-level phone, but not the best

I purchased the Samsung Phone because I wanted just a simple phone that wouldn't get in the way of calling my family when I wanted to. It is a decent enough phone, no frills really, which is what I was looking for. It handles call reception quite well in my experience, and the sound quality is above average. The buttons are easy to press and find without even looking, and the speed dial numbers are easy to activate. The phone's interface itself unfortunately is hampered by Verizon's insistence to put its interface on everything--features simple as an alarm clock are buried four menus deep! The camera on the phone is not going to win any awards, but it does its job in a pinch for sending quick snapshots to the family. The only major annoyance I've had so far is the Voice Command/Dialing feature, which is activated by pressing and holding a button on the right side of the handset. Unfortunately this button is raised and easily pressed, and often does get pressed simply by being in my pocket, resulting in my phone attempting to activate voice dialing while still in my pocket, and being quite loud about it too! There's a menu option to disable this behavior, but it doesn't work in my experience, resulting in a loud annoyance as well as a drain on the battery. Otherwise, a perfectly average but serviceable phone!

The Samsung SCH-U350 Cell Phone is sleek but easy to use.

4

The Samsung SCH-U350 Cell Phone by Verizon Wireless prepaid allows you to have a cell phone without credit checks, no monthly bills, and the best part, you only pay on the days that you use your phone! This phone is sleek looking but its not complicated to use. It has a camera so you can even take pictures, The best thing about this phone is that you can choose the calling plan that suits you and if you decide that you want to change your calling plan later, you can just by calling customer support.

This Smooth cellphone is cheap to include bluetooth.

I bought this phone at wal-mart to replace the old cellphone my brother gave me. It has blue tooth on it so you can get a wireless headset for about the same price as the phone. Or if you wanted a cheaper one you could get one at like biglots or some other bargin store. What I like about this phone is that it has mobile web so then I can check my email when I am not at home and be able to do things like track any packages I may have coming to me through fedex or even ups possilbly. One thing that isn't good about the phone is that it doesn't include a messaging capability to text message people on your cellphone. So I just go on the mobile web and go to m.yahoo.com and there I can access all of my yahoo pages which would be just mail and the messenger for me. For Windows Live Messenger you would have to go to /www.windowsliveformobile.com and put in your mobile phone number. I just use yahoo because I don't have to worry about all kinds of things I would have to do to access it from my phone. I also have a farily good plan which is 99 cents daily access fee on days I use it and I get unlimited mobile to mobile as well as unlimited nights and weekends. In order to get this plan you would need to contact a verizon representative.

The smooth is cheap and easy to use!

The Samsung Smooth is a basic camera flip phone. It's not expensive at all. You can buy it for as low as 29.99. You can get it in prepaid or in contract. It comes with many great features like text massaging, picture messaging and also voice messaging. It also comes with a email, chat, games, mobile web, etc. It also has speakphone, bluetooth, and many different applications. You can record your favorite song or your voice or anything like that and set it as your ringtone or even send it to someone like your friend of something. I found that very interesting because i noticed some other phone where you couldn't do that. Anyways, It's very easy to use, the buttons are big and easy to press once you get used to them. I bought my phone about four months ago and it took me a few days to get used to the buttons, but it's a very easy phone to use. My grandparents can even use it, so if your looking for a cheap and easy basic phone to use, this ones for you.
