I have to say to start off, that I don't have good luck  with cell phones (period).  So, last time I broke a phone, or it broke I should say, I went to friends to see if anyone had any extras I could borrow until I could get another deal at the store (discount for renewing a contract).  Well, my friend had a samsung katalyst that she for some reason or another decided to put into storage (she wanted one of the touch screen phones she said--but the katalyst worked).  So she let me buy, for thirty bucks, her used katalyst (used only about a year).  I've had so much good luck with this phone!  I must say, it has sooo many scratches on it from being dropped and the slide part works great, slides better than other slider phones I've tried.  And it just keeps on working-like the energizer bunny!  Camera works great too. Its been a good 2+years now.  I've lost track.  But that is ALOT for a cell phone in my mind.  Anyway, I love the functionality and the ease of use.    I'd buy this again for sure!

The Samsung Katalyst is a decent working cellular device. I personally bought it after my other phone completely quit working, so it was more of an emergency phone than anything, but it did the job and relieved my stress. The upside to the phone is that it has all of the basic essentials you look for in a fairly basic cell phone. It includes a 1.3 Megapixel camera, and surprisingly the pictures come out fairly clear... That is, if you can keep the camera perfectly still. I noticed that you have to keep it steady for a few minutes after you take the picture, or else the photo comes out a bit fuzzy. I was hoping when I bought it that it'd hold more text messages than my old one, only to my dismay did I find that you get a "messages full" type symbol flashing at the top if you have over 30 messages in your inbox and outbox, and if you text like I do, that can be pretty irritating. Another positive about the phone is it can be turned up enough to actually hear it! Some phones are hard to hear on the loudest setting over simple conversation. When this one is loud, it's pretty loud without being overbearing.  For one of the negatives- the keys are not so reliable. I notice sometimes when I'm texting or dialing a number, I'll push one of the keys but it will fail to show up on my screen. This gets very frustrating when it happens often. I'd recommend this phone to anyone looking for a simple cell phone to get the job done. If you're a techie looking for the latest and greatest mechanisms, you may want to turn to something else.

I have had this phone for over a year now. Although it isn't the newest style phone out there, I find it very convenient and easy to use. From the beginning it was easy to understand. I like the flip feature, I also enjoy the pictures it takes. Once you take a picture you can edit it, or add a frame or cartoon into it. I put my top five right on the front screen. It also has the hot spot in it. So wherever I go I can pick up signal and go online if I want to. So if I have no t-mobile. I use whoevers signal I can pick up where I am at. I can change the from screen to anything I want, the up down, left right can be any feature I want it to be. The slide feature makes sure you don't call someone accidently. The side button gets easy access to the camera. Once I take a picture, I send it right to my email so I can upload on my computer. I also like taking videos, they work for about up to 1.5 minutes.

I love the look of this phone!! It is not too thin but not too thick. It is great even for older people because the numbers are huge when you are calling someone. It is pretty easy to use and easy to find what you are looking for. I've had it for about a year now and have never had any problems with it. My cousin said that my phone was "ghetto" but I do not think so. After I have had my phone for a couple of months, I realized that there was a function called voice commands. For example, I can command the phone to call a certain person and it would do it!!! I was so excited when I found that function on my cell phone. It makes my life easier when I feel like I do not have enough hands to do everything by myself!! The only bad thing about that voice command function is that sometimes it gets the wrong message. When I say "Look up Hannah" it would interpret it way differently, but most of the time, it is correct. Overall, this phone is pretty nice. I am really having fun with the voice commands!

This is without a doubt the best phone I have ever had. T-mobile just keeps getting better and better. I have never had a dropped call and reception is great unlike my friends with Verizon. The phone is easy to use, great sound quality, beautiful display and looks and feels top notch. I tried the Motorola Rizr Z3, it doesn't even come close to the quality and performance of the Samsung SGH-T739. I am totally thrilled with this phone. I love it! I recommended this phone to a few of my family members and they had to rush out and get one. They are very happy too. I wish I had told them sooner.

The samsung katalyst works o.k. I don't like how the camera is located on the back of the phone because when you put the phone face down the face gets scratched, and if you put it down face up, the camera lens gets dirty. Also the pictures taken by the phone is poor quality.

I ordered my Tmobile Samsung Katalyst  online. I was delighted when it came. But  after 2 weeks of having it, it started to show problems. The left soft key, and call button (which is also on the left) sometimes don't work. You can press it many times and nothing happens. And when it feels like working, it'll work. I have the key tones on, so, when it works, you'll hear the sound when you press it. So, I sometimes can't make calls. Tmobile only allows 14 days for me to do a return or exchange for online orders. I can't bring it to a tmobile store because I ordered it online. That. I think is a stupid policy.  So, now I have a phone with a mind of its own that will only work when it wants to.

 the samsung katalysts is a professional looking phone. its best feature is that it is user friendly. it dose have its down side to. the two i own like to turn off by itself and sometimes dosent hold a charge. it can be a really good phone for those who like tmobil as a carrier for service. just be aware that every device has both un upside and a down side.
