I'm not a huge music guy, but since I was heading out on the road for three weeks, I figured I better get something to keep me occupied. I wanted to go cheap, since the mp3 players would likely get beat up. I stumbled upon a used Samsung YP-K3 on ebay, and paid $24 inc. shipping.
I was truly impressed with the capabilities of the thing. After relying on my Verizon Razr for music needs (a maximum of only seven playlists, very slow loading, heavy battery drain), I was amazed at what I could do with this. I have downloaded all of the tunes I own (like I said, not a huge music guy), and still have half of the memory left for more.
A few carps, the touch screen controls are VERY sensitive, so you need to lock the device after playing you list. Samsung's music site is, by the phone tech's admission, not very intuitive, but once you know how, it rocks. The glossy front is no more prone to scratching than other mp3s, but you'll find yourself continually wiping off fingerprints. In bright sunlight, or while wearing shades, it's hard to read playlist (however, no worse than my Razr display).
This is a slick little player, and much more than I expected.
