I am sort of an appliance junky. It just makes sense to me to have the things that make cleaning easier and more fun! Had Kenmore HE3's had, LG, then I got my Samsung set. This is my forever washer dryer. It is quiet, no vibration that rattles my walls like the others did. Silvercare is great for delicate lingerie that needs to be sanitary. Clothes are clean, and have no mildew in my washer with a bit of extra maintenence.

I was told to get a Samsung after my Electrolux washer and dryer both broke after just 6 months of use. This washer lasted 7 weeks with very minimul use, the matching dryer is fine so far. I have waited10 days for a service call, which will be tomorrow. I am looking to buy a top loader again if this isn't resolved easily. The front loaders don't use enough water for my picky cleaning expectations. I am very concerned about the environment, but I want cleaner clothes and a washer that can handle more than one sheet or blanket at a time. Cleaning a rug is not an option in these machines, it is too hard on the balance of the machines. I say get a top loader with the least available electronics, use the gentle cycle and as little water as you can. These new front loaders are too picky with detergent and heavy loads, not at all worth the extra money, worthless really in my view.
...

I cannot tell you how much easier my life has been with this washer. I totally love it! First of all I can put more clothes in the washer than ever before and the clothes come out great. I was a little uneasy about how much the detergent was going to cost because it is a HE machine (Hight Efficiency) and it says that machine works better with HE detergent. I was scared that I was going to have to pay more and that I had got myself into a mess. But to my surprise it is around the same price I paid for the old stuff. Some brands and scents are not available in HE, but the majority of them are. My water bill has lowered some because you are saving water when you use your machine. You can also purchase a platform which goes on the bottom of the washer and that is a big bonus. It does cost extra, but believe me when I say spend a little extra on this feature. Not only do you get to have a storage area for all your bleach, detergent, and fabric softener, but it does bring up the machine so you......

micah68woman says "A God-send for my daughter with sensory challenges" about Samsung - Vibration Reduction Technology Washer

I highly recommend this machine for families that include an individual with sensory issues from brain injury, autism, or other causes.

Due to multiple head trauma, my adult daughter has acute sensory sensitivity to just about every sensory trigger that exists. My old top-load washer was a nightmare for her, as it rattled and banged and shook during the spin cycle - and from another room with the TV on, she could even hear it filling. She also has constant dizziness, and reaching down into the washer (or across the machine to the controls) made it hard for her to do her own laundry. Going to a public laundry was not an option because I couldn't keep her clothing fragrance-free there.

Before purchasing a new washer, I researched machines thoroughly and decided on Samsung or one other brand. I quickly elminated the other brand because of fragrance imbeded into the washer seal, I think. I couldn't afford to get the top-of-the-line Samsung, but got the WF218ANB with VRT. When it was installed,...
...

Samsung - Vibration Reduction Technology.. Wonderful. Never used a Samsung item so I was a little bit worried about the performance; but what a surprise. It hardly shakes (which it was great for us because our house was built in 1951 so we have raised foundation). We stacked them to save space (wonderful as well). Very little noise ... I could sleep next to it.
...

I've had this set for 10 months and I loved it so much, that I tried not to pay attention to extra noise from the dryer, until this "thing" started: error message on washer's display panel: harmless malfunction. Still, the cycle couldn't be finished, unless you restarted it countless times, rearranged the laundry, made it as small as possible (speaking of energy efficiency...) Of course, warranty & all that jazz, but guess what: it's been going on for 7 weeks now. It shows how helpful they are, doesn't it? They finally sent the part, but the wrong one arrived; tecnhician tried, couldn't fix it and meanwhile scratched the washer badly (surface and front). I'd been babying & cleaning carefully the entire time I've owned it. So, warranty time is almost over, company gives a rat's ass about my problem, so you decide: whether to pay for that kind of fun, or not.
...

I thought my samsung washing machine was great until it stopped working after two weeks. I called the warranty number and they said that someone would call me to arrange to fix it. No one called! I called again and they said the same thing. Still no one called. Finally they gave me the name and number of the subcontractor that "should have called me". I had to call them. When the technician came out he didn't even know how to turn it on. Couldn't fix it because he didn't have the part. I was promised that the part would come on Saturday - it's now Sunday no part. The Technician won't come back until I have the part.

Even though these energy star washers use a lot less water & energy, you have to be careful what you put in them.

When my washer died I had no idea where to look for it's replacement. I knew I wanted a dependable product that was energy efficient. After much searching we finally decided to purchase the Samsung VRT Steam WF448AAP. I LOVE IT!!! The first day that I used it I actually took my cup of coffee and sat in front of it to watch it "do it's thing". It's hard to believe that a product that so gently rolls the laundry through the water can clean everything so well. The cycle is a reasonable length and the clothes come out extremely water free. They actually just feel damp. And quiet! It's unbelievable. You don't even know the washer is in use!

I love the extremely large size of the tub too. I recently washed my thickly quilted queen size comforter with no problem at all. It's great to be able to reduce the number of loads that I have to do each week. The only negative I've encountered is that I'm having to adjust to not spot treating stains as heavily. It's a habit that is tough to break but...
...

We poured through hundreds of reviews looking for a good washer and dryer. Sorry to say that we got major sticker-shock: the last time we bough a new set (only 8 years prior), we bought BOTH machines -- and had money left over -- for the price we paid for JUST the washer this time around! :-/

That said, we never would have considered Samsung, but all reviews kept coming up as very positive and very reliable. Because of the painfully small area where we live and complete screw-ups from the store we bought from, they actually upgraded both models (to a newer) than the ones we tried to buy. The washer is a seemingly standard front-loader (our first), and it is extremely efficient. It uses very little water (far less than the dishwasher!) and very little high-efficiency detergent (we do a minimum of 2 loads per week and are still on the same 150-oz. bottle -- over 7 months!). It has multiple settings to accommodate for linens, towels, and the like, but even the normal wash is...
...

I looked at several washers, previously had a top loader that occasionally tore up clothes, so I really liked the idea of clothes falling freely through the water as the water and detergent cleaned them while passing through them - no agitation, no harsh encounters between the clothes and the machine.

This, is NOT that kind of washer. NO H.E. WASHER IS THAT KIND OF WASHER. And that is unfortunate.

H.E. Washers work by making the clothes soggy-damp, then beating the crap out of them as they tumble back and forth. Before having this samsung steamer, I had a Maytag. So help me, I didnt think the clothes were even completely damp - barely wet, and THAT was the wash cycle - just sloshing back and and forth. This machine DOES get the clothes better than damp, but by no means do you SEE water in the machine during the wash cycle. As a doctor, I just dont think you can sanitize clothes (or anything for that matter) without a decent amount of soap and water.

I have little doubt that...
...

I bought this, along with the coordinating Samsung dryer in a pinch b/c my 6 y.o. Kenmore dryer died suddenly, and my washer had been rusting out in the tub for a couple of years. So was planning to replace the washer after tax returns in the spring anyway, but the dryer had different ideas.

After reading through tons of customer reviews, I was torn between the LG models and the Samsung models. I opted for non-steam models b/c of the much higher cost and b/c I figure the more mechanisms you have in an appliance, the more likely something will break. Anyway, what finally swayed me to the Samsung was a combination of 2 things: The Samsung customer reviews seemed to have fewer disgruntled buyers.....the LG models would have several glowing reviews followed by a couple of "lemons" I guess. The Samsung had fewer disgruntled customer reviews complaining of major malfunctions. Secondly, I really wanted the Silvercare. I don't like to use hot water wash cycles b/c hot water wears your...
...
