Samsung - Vibration Reduction Technology Washer —

I did a lot of research on washers and dryers when we moved and had to replace our old ones.  The Samsung models came out at the top of the heap in comparison to several other brands.  Some of the complaints I found repeatedly in other front-loader washer models was the instability during spin cycles (dancing washers), and the problem with mold around the door seal.  Samsung touted the VRT - Vibration Reduction Technology - which is supposed to eliminate vibration.  I have to say that it lives up to its claims.  No dancing washer here.   Also, I don't have a problem with any mold or smelly growth on the door seal.  I always leave the door slightly ajar between uses.  When I'm able to afford it, and we're in a bigger place, I will most likely invest in the platforms that go with the machines.  They are rather low to the ground without.  But that's the only little drawback I've had.  Overall, I couldn't be more pleased with my machine.  It has all the cycles I could ever need for any type of laundry, it's quiet - sometimes I have to go look at the control panel to see if it's still running - and it's very water and energy efficient.

The washer model is WF448AAP/XAA; the dryer is DV448AEP/XAA. I think the XAA at the end denotes the finish color. Mine is stainless steel. As far as my clothes being more wrinkled, no, no more than in my old dryer. I usually try to get them out fairly soon after they're finished, but when I don't the dryer has this great wrinkle cycle that I can run - it has steam, and really does very well at removing wrinkles. I mean, if it is something dressy, it might still need some pressing, but generally they don't come out bad at all. Also, there's a wrinkle prevent mode that if selected will notify you when the cycle is done, but it keeps running the dryer (without heat) to keep the clothes tumbling so they don't wrinkle. I've left the clothes in there occasionally even after the wrinkle prevent mode stops (it cycles on & off for quite a while) and the clothes don't look any worse than if I had removed them at the end of the cycle.

Can you tell me what model you have? Also do you find that your clothes are more wrinkled after you take it out the dryer.

Absolutely none after over a year of use. That was one of the things I was concerned about when I did the research before buying. A lot of suggestions were made as to how to prevent it or control it, but the only thing I do is to not close the washer door completely after I have finished all the loads. I prop it open about an inch with a little piece of styrofoam - have done this since the beginning. Very small effort, but no mold at all. I'm still very pleased with both the washer and the dryer - they've performed as expected.

How about now - 1 year later - do you have mold problems. From all of the posts that I have read - it seems to happen around a year or so and gets worse and worse.
