I was told to get a Samsung after my Electrolux washer and dryer both broke after just 6 months of use.  This washer lasted 7 weeks with very minimul use, the matching dryer is fine so far.  I have waited10 days for a service call, which will be tomorrow.  I am looking to buy a top loader again if this isn't resolved easily.  The front loaders don't use enough water for my picky cleaning expectations.  I am very concerned about the environment, but I want cleaner clothes and a washer that can handle more than one sheet or blanket at a time.  Cleaning a rug is not an option in these machines, it is too hard on the balance of the machines.  I say get a top loader with the least available electronics, use the gentle cycle and as little water as you can.  These new front loaders are too picky with detergent and heavy loads, not at all worth the extra money, worthless really in my view.

i enjoyed your review... especially that you completed the review on "what happened next... my questions are
what model do you have? Is it installed on the first floor or second?

germbreak here: The repairman came and there was a pressure hose that was never attached, he said it could have been when the installers put the pedestal on that it came off?? It works better now, like I expected and he reassured me that I have a top of the line, great machine. He said he hardly ever replaces a part on this machine. Lowe's kept a good eye on my situation, they have great customer service and I always buy from them.
