I was pleased and surprised by this phone. My previous cell phones from various providers do not match this one. I have found that the more features that a phone has the quicker the battery wears out, it doesn't hold a charge and drops calls.
My teenage son picked out this phone, then my husband and I both picked this phone because of the great price.

I have had the Samsung - Sync a707 for a while now, and I cannot say that I have too many complaints. It has many ring options outside of just vibrate and silent. It even has a ring setting that makes the phone ring louder when you're in the car. It also has an "airplane" setting which leaves the phone on so you can play games, but it disconnects it from the network to prevent interference with the airplane equipment.
It can connect to the internet, which I only use to download ringtones to my phone. But, it will allow you to connect to AIM and talk to your friends. It is also a camera... review »
This paticular phone, was one of the better one's that I have owned. I have been a cell phone user since, 1998. I would highly recommend. It was very durable, and would be a great phone for youngsters. I droped it many times on concrete, tile, dirt, and it just keep coming back on.

I've had my Samsung Sync A707 for about a year and a half now. It has been a pretty good phone for me. It works great with AT&T. I live in an area where only AT&T can get through. And some phones just don't work too well with a particular service. I have always purchased Motorola cellphones, up until this one. But none of my Motorolas have worked properly. I know this is not the "latest & greatest" of technology for phones, and that Ive had mine for awhile, but... This phone has all the features and functions that I personally will ever need in a cell phone. I am NOT a text junkie, and use my phone for just that, business related phone calling. I previously owned the Samsung Sync a707. I did not care for this phone the whole time I owned it I had nothing but trouble with it. I live in a very open area, near cell towers but the phone was constantly dropping calls. My battery would not hold charge very long, it also took forever for the phone to charge. The only thing that worked very well was the camera. I personally would not recommend this phone to my dog, not if you want a phone that works. When it wasn't dropping calls it was a very unclear signal, very hard to understand anyone on the other end. Text messaging would have been great...
