Pretty happy but needs better battery

4

Overall I like this phone. It does what I want from it but the battery dies at least once a day which to me is unacceptable. I used to have the ENV3 so when I went to upgrade the salesperson at verizon told me this was the closest thing because i INSISTED on having a keyboard. This was my first smart phone and I tell you i haven't used the slide out keyboard once. This phone is very easy to use, even for a first time smart phone user. i have a lot of great apps, lots of pictures and videos and I've downloaded a lot of stuff and I still have plenty of room on my phone which is really cool. I use the web all the time and it is a lot like using a laptop, i don't even used my computer at home anymore because this phone can do everything! Even some website have a mobile setting and the display makes it easy to do everything. It takes amazing pictures to the point where I don't even bring my digital camera with me anymore. The only negatives about this phone is that it sometimes restarts itself, the calls drop occasionally (service issue not phone) and the battery dies quickly. I also had to have it replaced because the charge port broke in less than a year.

I love the Samsung stratosphere!

5

I first got this phone against the advise of the tech that assisted me my other phone had gotten a life of its own without me. I have had to factory reset the stratosphere a few times after a few apps didn't work out well with the phone. It is working so well with the latest reset. It isn't great for fast videos/games that needs a faster processor as it doesn't have the snapdragon processor but you still can search the web for those that speed isn't an issue. I can still do so much on it and very little issues with it getting a life of its own so far. It has flash player and pretty easy to use and transfer data and apps to the sd card to be able to use in another phone. I love the physical keyboard. It seems to be one of the more sturdy phones to drops( light) than others that I have had, That is good when you have kids that take and drop it accidentally and the occasional spill with hands that some times fumble with holding it.

A great phone!

This phone has solid battery life and a clear display. The slide-out QWERTY keyboard keeps the screen from getting greasy from texting fingerprints and stops a lot of autocorrect mishaps. My biggest complaint about the phone is that it was hard to find custom-sized screen protectors for it, so I had to cut a screen protector sheet down to size myself. Other than that, I like its size and the big screen. I stream TV/movies on it frequently. I like the built-in memory; I save dozens of hours of podcasts and haven't needed to buy any supplemental memory.

I've had my Samsung Stratosphere for about two years now. Since I purchased it I've gone through three refurbished Stratospheres' because the quality of this phone is so poor. Many times it says My sd card is damaged, my gallery won't load all my photos to view, my contacts have been erased by themselves, Can't take photos, and the service is horrible. Half the time I cannot make calls and I can't send text messages or receive them. The phone becomes very slow after about 2 to 3 months and it all goes down hill after that. Not happy with this phone and can't wait for my upgrade! Battery Life My battery dies very quickly and the charger that came with my phone was flimsy and not durable at all. It ended up breaking and the wires were exposed so I had to buy a new one. Display/Screen Quality The screen quality isn't bad. Call Quality Can't make calls unless I hit the call button five times and when it finally goes through my phone calls that person 5 times while I'm on the phone with them! Ease of Use It's very slow and aggravating. Design The design is nice. It's perfect size for me, I just wish it wasn't so heavy.

Pretty decent phone that is efficient but needs a better battery

I loved this phone for the year that I had it before it had a software malfunction. Occasionally the phone would turn itself off randomly but it always turned back on till the last time. Battery Life Most of the time it lasted through the whole day but occasionally it would just die. If you forgot to charge overnight you were screwed. Display/Screen Quality Clean, crisp no issues and never cracked or chipped. Touch screen always worked perfectly Call Quality Occasional issues with hearing, may have been related to service but was still an occasional issue. Ease of Use I was able to play games, watch youtube, browse the internet and text/call with this phone and it never glitched out or failed to keep up with me. Durability Dropped this phone multiple times but never cracked, only turned off. The sliding keyboard also stayed strong, by which I mean it did not start to fall open randomly. Design Nothing amazing. Simple design, was not an over the top stand out design. Simple black/gray color.

Use my wife's phone all of the time!

My wife has this phone and I love stealing it from her and using it to surf the web. It is really fast now that our area has 4G and not just the 3G we had before. The battery life goes kind of quickly so I plug it in when I am using it, to a charge cord. The camera on this phone is pretty awesome too. Pretty good color and clarity. I like the way she recieves her text messages too, the way they are in list form by person/number instead of individual, if that makes sense. Durable and nice phone! The screens are the gorilla glass which is actually made locally to us, in Corning, NY which is really cool as well. I give the phone an overall 2 thumbs up!

I got this phone for my son. It did not have it three months before the screen cracked, rendering it useless. Granted it was my sons fault because it was dropped. I just don't feel like a phone that costs that much should break that easily. It should have gorilla glass like the droid 4.

It's junk.

I bought this Samsung because I had good luck with them in the past; I guess my luck ran out. The screen was not very clear and seemed fragile, the processor was incredibly slow, and worst of all, the phone could not hold a charge beyond what seemed like a couple of hours. Pass.

Androids Don't Just Belong in Sci Fi Movies

I purchased this phone after my Blackberry sustained a fatal blow being dropped on a linoleum floor. When my cell phone provider urged me towards the Android platform rather than the I-Phone, I chose this phone due to features such as the convenient pull-out keyboard, and the alleged high speed of the 4G interface. So far, this phone has exceeded its promise. The storage is more than ample, and I use it for multiple applications, including ones needed for my internet-based businesses. I've dropped it several times harder than the blow that killed my Blackberry, and the phone is none the worse for wear. Only two complaints: music lovers are going to be driven crazy by trying to download from ITunes into Android-friendly music players. Fuggedaboutit. I bought an Ipod, giving up on music on my phone. Apple doesn't want to make this easy for you. And battery life on this phone is poor. Won't make it through a day of internet surfing, phone calls and texting. Buy a few extra chargers, or better yet, a spare battery. Otherwise, this is a sturdy, versatile phone that should serve you well, no matter your needs.

Decent budget-level smartphone

I bought this phone because it was the only 4G smartphone with a physical keyboard offered at the time. Talking is clear and texting is a breeze, but the phone is prone to freezing and will periodically turn itself off. UI is not especially intuitive and requires your full attention to navigate. Camera is good quality, but unforgivably laggy, which makes it impractical for most uses. Battery Life Battery lasts about 16 hours with minimal use, 4-5 hours with moderate to heavy use. Ease of Use Very difficult to navigate phone book or search for a contact without looking at the screen. Button shortcuts for symbols seem to be placed randomly. Number buttons at the top of the keypad are nice, however. Durability The first phone I got broke the first time I dropped it. The second one has survived multiple falls unscathed. Feels light and plastic-y for a phone, but doesn't feel fragile.
