The SAMSUNG SGH T219 is one of T-Mobile's basic models for prepaid call users. I bought this brand rather than the others because of quality and clear sound.
I only use the phone to make and receive calls. The phone has excellent reception and range. It has a speaker system so one can hear messages/voices coming in clearly and without strain. The phone is easy to use and dialing is simple. Once you get your own cell phone tone, then the ring is easily recognizable: I need to do this. It holds a charge reasonably well and there are devices to recharge it with in the car or other places from the main charge plug. It has an attractive clear viewing screen. The keys are large enough for even a clumsy person or one with shaking fingers/hands to use. The phone is reliable.
On the negative side, the entry slot on the side where the charger plug goes in is easy to open but seems very flimsy. I am afraid this slot (plug) will fall off. Also I am not one who deals with phone menus readily. I am a slow learner. But anyone used to working with menus or storing phone numbers will find this model easy to use. It stores phone numbers and shows calls made over time.
For a person who wants a basic cell phone to call and receive messages with at a reasonable price ($59.95), the SAMSUNG SGH T219 with T-Mobile is highly recommended. T-Mobile is a quality message provider and the minutes are not very expensive, especially if one takes advantage of volume orders. There are a few others like Jitterbug which are very basic. However, the latter phone costs at least double and the minutes are expensive.
I highly recomment the Samsung SGH T219 with T-Mobile
