I had an old Sys monitor for a long time, when I finally bought the Sansung Monitor from TigerDirect. I got a great deal. When I first turned it on, I was in absolute shock over picture versus my old monitor. The clarity is amazing. I have it hooked up through the DVI connection, but this also has an HDMi connection so you can hook up tons of things, including my camera. I just used the Auto setting which are excellent but you can set it up for your own taste after playing with it for a little while. Edge to edge, it is excellent. Quality is excellent, size is perfect for me. i watch TV  and movies on it, along with my computer and I have to say , for the price, you can't beat it. It even has built in speakers, which aren't too bad considering they are monitor speakers. I run it full resolution, but  you can run it pretty much any size. With 1080p, you can hook up your blueray to it and enjoy HD DVD movies. Samsung also has a great reputation for support, but I haven't had to use them. So far, everything is great! Doc.

The product above has outstanding graphics for gaming and veiwing use. I personally have one for my desktop since I'm a big gamer. It has a high resolution and is perfect for veiwing movies or doing presentations. I use it for my Dell desktop for work use for presentations and data usage. Though it is some what not very portable. The hardware is light and there is several resolutions and brightness levels if you want to change the look of the screen. I perfer to use the highest resolution for the best quality possible. Though other Samsung products are much better as in the newest monitor out. Which is more gamer quality. I usually play Call of Duty or some Zombie killing game with high quality graphics. My brother usually uses the desktop though with the monitor which he says its better than his other widescreen which is a Dell. He rather use my computer though for his gaming addiction.

I should point out that after so many monitors I have seen, this particular *Samsung* 24-inch monitor is definitely something. With such high resolution, it makes average television sets look so obsolete. I recommend this to anyone who would prefer such improved quality, especially people constantly looking for an interesting model like this one. Even though there are many manufacturer companies that compete towards one another, this is one of a few good companies (like, for example, *Sony*) that is just as interesting in its own way.

I purchased this monitor at the end of December, 2009.   It has been my primary monitor for the past 6 months, and so far I have found absolutely nothing that I dislike about it.   When I decided to purchase this monitor I knew that samsung was a high-quality brand, so anything less than absolutely stellar performance would have been a disappointment to me.   The SM2494HM has great picture quality, excellent color, and offers a wide viewing angle.  While the touch-based buttons on the front of the monitor required a bit of adjustment to get used too, after a few days I really grew to appreciate them.   The absense of raised buttons gives this glossy black color a sleek, polished look from top to bottom.   This monitor was easy to set up, easy to use, and easy on the eyes.   I highly recommend anyone who is looking to upgrade to a new monitor consider the SM2494HM, you won't be disappointed.  My only regret is that my desk isn't large enough to hold two of them.
