Samsung full keyboard

4

I had this phone for almost a year. I usually am pretty hard on phones, so having this item for that long really says something about its durability. It got plenty of cosmetic damage, but I never saw a decrease in the performance of the device. I actually hated this phone a lot though. The screen is sooo small you really can't see anything on it. I had to get my glasses out just to read a text. I would not recommend it for internet browsing whatsoever. Horrible experience with that. It is lacking in a lot of features that other phones in its time had. I did like the full keyboard quite a bit but the keys are so small it is very difficult to text if you have larger thumbs like some of us! I wish that it was a touch screen along with the full keyboard. That would be a nice addition to the phone. Otherwise, it's just a plain jane, non-smartphone (aka stupid phone) that is sturdy and lasts. Not recommended for people who want a fancy device.

Good value for the money

This phone is an economical way to get alot of features for a small price. Clear reception convenient small this size, many features accessable with one button. One major down sides is small very close together numbers, but does have large memory to list all contacts Long talk time on fully charged battery. Voice Quality very few dropped calls and no disturbance with background noises Ease of Use a little hard to text if you have big hands Design small and thin

Not for big fingers !

The phone was slow and the buttons are so close together it takes alot of time to text on it. My husband bought the phone and it is so small and difficult to use that it either would slip out of his hand or he would not be able to text correctly on it.

big bang for the buck

We got this phone when we switched from TracPhone to ATTs Consumer Cellular plan. We love the plan which gives us 1500 texts per month plus 500 minutes. (We're not heavy phone users or texters, so this works great for us). The phone has a touch screen and touch keypad, which have taken a little getting used to. Overall though, the phone is user-friendly (although it did take us a few fumbles before we figured out how to actually answer the darn thing). My son says it is not as fabulous as his iPhone but at this price it doesn't need to be. One of the features we like is the PC Studio, which allows you to manage your contacts list, music, etc. online. One small caveat: we both are Audible subscribers, and this phone does not support the Audible file format, so we can't load our books on the phone. Overall, this is a very satisfactory phone at a great price.

This phone I have been using fro awhile and I am not impressed at all with it. You recieve some message that contain pictures and /or songs/music and if you want to forward it to a friend, etc. it will tell you that it content has exceeded the max. content and can not be forwarded. I don't understand how you can recieve it but then can't send it out. This is just really dumb if you ask me. My previous phone I had before cost less and did more......Why is that like that? Can anyone answer that forme????

DO not buy this Samsung phone

While there are many things that are nice about the Samsung phone, it just can not overcome that fact that as a phone it is junk. No amount of features will make up for the fact that you cannot make simple phone calls on the thing. The key pad is incredibly small. Maybe if you are a miniature Barbie doll, you would have no problem typing in phone numbers, but for real life people, there is no way to consistantly type in basic numbers or text with my fingers. Maybe that's why I keep accidentaly calling China. The phone is also obviously not well made, as I have had to replace it 2 times in less than a year. Last time the phone kept randomly calling people, and the keys would not work at all. The phone does not get good reception, and my wife says it sounds as though I am in a wave pool when we talk. I also have a problem finding a case that will work well for the phone. Do yourself a favor and do NOT get this phone. A basic phone is a much better choice.

The Samsung a177 really is a go phone with a full keyboard

3

I bought the Samsung A177 because my old phone broke and I didn't want to have to renew my plan by going to AT&T. So I bought this go phone because I didn't want to spend much and I wanted a phone with a keyboard. This really is just a go phone with a keyboard. The software is the same as all go phones which makes it simple and easy to use. Maybe too simple for people who like palms and iphones. I have used a phone previously where the keyboard had smaller buttons but I still find this keyboard hard to use. The buttons are slanted in different directions and can make your fingers slip. It has a good screen size and great sound quality and most people would never guess that it's a pay as you go phone (although I put my sim card in it and use it as a regular phone). Occasionally this phone will turn off for no reason but I must admit I have dropped it several times, but for the most part it still works. Overall this is a functional phone but nothing really special.

I really like the samsung. I have a metro account and I use a samsung. It is  reliable device. I really like the good pic that I can receive. I like the big screan. I like that it has good text. I really like the color and how the color match with me. I like to text so I lke when I can just use the keys at the bottom of the phone to send text I don't have to wait on the phone to get the letter I just text. I like the phone becasue it has a lot of different things you can do on it, I like that I can download songs that I can use on my phone with when it rings and text. I like that I can change the wallpaper of how my home screen looks so that my phone can look like it is a new one. I like that I can pay my bill online and also on my phone whenever the bill is due. I would purchase another samsung becasue these phones have good quality. They look elegant to me. I can relate this phone because I like to have a phone I can rely on. I like that I can buy phone a reasonable price and not have to pay so much.

great for the price!

I just purchased this phone after my old phone decided to stop working.  I took into consideration all the reviews when buying this product.   I bought an unlocked version of this phone and it works well with T-Mobile.  The phone itself reminds me of a blackberry, but much cheaper.  Love the simplistic look of the phone.  It is lightweight and has a very sleek-looking design.  My only complaint is that the keys on the phone are a bit too small and even though I have pretty tiny fingers compared to most people, I still have a bit of trouble texting without pushing some of the wrong buttons.  It is a bit frustrating, especially when I am texting quickly. However, my friends have told me that they can hear me better on this phone compared to my old one, which is a great plus. Especially for the price and the fact that its a pre-paid phone, I have extremely happy with my purchase and recommend it!

nice phone

I like this phone alot. It's easy to use, nice big screen to see and has a lot of good functions. The camera is ok not the best and the phone buttons are easliy pushed if it's in my purse and has occassionally called people on my list. It does show that you have missed a call and for some reason it will show the previous missed a call too so you would think 2 calls were missed at the same time. Otherwise I do recommed it, just have a pouch to put it in.
