The Samsung S730 Digital camera is a good buy for the money. It has many different settings that are user friendly and relevant to the average, everyday picture taker! It comes in a variety of colors, such as black, silver and lime green, among others. It has 7.2 megapixels and ASR (Advanced Shake Reduction) It is compact enough to fit in a bag, so you don't set it down and leave it somewhere. I have had my camera for almost 3 years, and use it nearly everyday, and it still takes pictures just as good as the day I got it. It has been dropped, wet, and thrown. (not that I would recommend doing that to any camera!) I have taken pictures at parties, of the kids being silly, and even action shots at soccer games. Keep in mind that this is not a camera for a professional photographer. Sometimes the shutter is very slow, so I miss the exact shot I was trying to get. Sometimes if I am trying to take the picture from too far away, even though it looks clear, in the picture it doesn't come out clear. But for a little, fairly inexpensive camera it does the job well! The digital camera, of course also takes videos. (I think it will go up to 2 or 3 min). My only complaint is that it does not let me take still shots from the video. My personal experience with Samsung cameras is that they are a good brand of camera, with longevity and precise picture taking, and the Samsung S730 has been no different!

This camera is wonderful in every aspect except that I have to change the batteries often.  Pictures are crystal clear and it is very user friendly.  I have tried other digital cameras and have had trouble with seeing the image in the view finder unless the lighting was very bright. This camera does not have this issue in any way.  The view finder works better than any other digital camera I have used or owned.  You will be pleased especially given its price.  A great bargain!

We got this camera a few years ago and a few days ago it just quit. We changed the batteries etc and nothing. It won't even retract its lens. So for durability it gets an F as we never used it much after the aquarium incident. When we got this camera we had it just a few weeks and took it to the Aquarium to take some pictures. After 30 minutes of being on it got very hot and fried the memory card which sits directly behind the batteries. So no pics for vacation. That was a big annoyance. Overall it takes quality pictures. It has 7.2 mega pixels. I can't complain about the picture quality. The menu is decent and fairly simple. Decent size screen. However the cons out weigh the pros. The biggest annoyance with this camera is how slow it is to adjust itself to actually snap your picture. It has a very slow shutter speed. The response time is just terrible. I think overall we just wasted our money seeing as it is broken after hardly ever being used, never dropped,and always stored in a padded camera case. I thought Samsung was a good brand of camera and perhaps this was just a bad apple model but this experience has made me want to never buy another Samsung.

It came time for me to upgrade my digital camera. I wanted an affordable, well rounded camera for everyday use. I found it with the Samsung S730. It is perfect for everything. I have taken Christmas portraits, and birthday portraits with it. I take it on vacations and take lots of pictures around the house. I compared a lot of cameras before I finally settled on this one and I am glad I did. With the right batteries you can take loads of pictures on one charge. I do recommend using rechargables with it though. It can tear through ordinary batteries fast. It's easy to use, but not for the beginner. I recommend reading the manual before using it. A drawback is that it doesn't give you a lot of warning when the battery is getting low. Especially if you aren't paying attention and just taking pictures. It's decently priced and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Great for the family that just likes to take pictures and have them look great without all the professional touch up.

I bought one of these cameras and have had far to much trouble with it.  I bought it before an overseas trip so really couldn't take it back for exchange or refund in time and I got stuck with it.  The camera takes nice clear pictures when it actually works, but it seldom does work.  Almost from the beginning it saps the batteries in no time at all.  More than half the time, i get a file error message and the picture doesn't save at all. After such a bad experience with an expensive camera, I do not plan to buy again from this maker.

I was really impressed with the purchased of my red, Samsung S730 Digital Camera. It was easy to use, the features are outstanding, and the pics are great!!   My teen daughter has claimed ownership of my camera and loves it also!!  It was definitely well worth the money that I paid for it.

This digital camera has done really well for us for the past year, but recently it has started having some technical issues that are very frustrating. Overall, the camera takes good pictures, and is easy to figure out. It has great zooming capabilities, and it takes good quality videos too. The editing features are really fun to use and play around with, unfortunately it doesn't have a red-eye fix editing option, which is kind of disappointing. Its default for the flash is the red-eye reducing flash, but it never makes a difference, and we still end up with constant red-eye pictures. We have only had the camera for 18 months now, and have taken good care of it...but it has started glitching and having issues that don't seem to be fixable. Unfortunately the started occuring right after our warranty expired. The biggest problem has to do with the camera not functioning properly when it doesn't have a full battery charge. If it gets to less than 2 bars of battery life, it will turn on fine, but when you push the button to take a picture, the camera blacks out, without retracting the zoom lens and cover shield. It then will not turn back on until you repace it with brand new batteries (it takes two AA batteries...we use the best brand on the market), and then you will find that the date is reset to "1/1/07". This has only NOT happened about 3 times when the camera blanks out. Half our pictures are now permanently imprinted with an incorrect date and time because of this issue. I would recommend this camera to someone who wants a cheap easy camera, but only plans on using it until the warranty runs out.

I got this camera after i saw my friend's. Have it for about a year or so. I love it. It takes great pictures. and i like the fund things you can do with the camera. The only thing I will complaine about is when you take video with it. If you are in a place where the lighting is bad the pictures will come out dark. But with the program that comes with the camera you can fix it up with editing, depending how dark the video is.

I'm sure I'll keep it for a long time.I love photography and this camera had an amazing price that was very modest. I cannot believe I got such a deal! Takes very nice macro photos. Many photo options, with an amazingly clear screen and large LCD.Doens't have a cheep plasticy feel, and the lens is absolutely amazing! There are 8 capture options, more than most digital cameras.Great camera overall!**

This camera produces great quality photos for the price tag.  I am always getting comments from family and friends on how great the pics turn out.  The only bad thing about this camera is the battery life.  It tends to die very quickly so I would suggest going for lithium batteries.  I am very happy with this camera despite that, you cant beat the price for the quakity of pictures it produces.  It also takes good quality video. I would recomend it to someone who likes to take pictures, but is not that serious about photography.
