For years, I resisted switching from my analog camera to a digital one because I was concerned that the photos would be inferior. I finally broke down and bought a Samsung S630 and now it's the only camera I ever use. It's light-weight and compact but it's also durable - I've dropped mine a couple of times and it still works beautifully and has very few scratches to the body. When I use the Auto function, the photos are usually clear without any blurriness because it has an anti-shake feature. There are several other functions (including a night setting, a sceen setting, and a potrait setting) but I find the photos often come out blurry unless I'm using a tripod. This camera also takes video but doesn't appear to have a sound feature. There is a slight delay when taking action photos so I find this camera is best for still shots unless your timing is very good. Overall, however, I'm very pleased with the Samsung S630 - I've taken it all over the world and have come back with beautiful, crisp photos. Plus, the price was incredible reasonable - I got mine for just under $100 at Wal-Mart - and the Samsung name is one I trust for high quality products.
