Samsung Refrigerator - Side by Side RS2556 Review

 The Samsung Refrigerator - Side by Side is so far the best refrigerator I have ever owned.  It is 25.2 cubic inches, stainless steel, water and ice dispenser and adjustable shelves.  The retail costs for the Samsung Refrigerator - Side by Side is approximately $1500.00, but we included it in the purchase of our home. 

Features I don't like on the Samsung Refrigerator - Side by Side

• the ice maker takes up valuable freezer space
• the freezer side seems too small, not enough space for storage but great for the couple of weeks at a time
• expensive water filter
• the ice dispenser is difficult to get back in after taking out
• finding someone to fix it

Features I like on the Samsung Refrigerator - Side by Side

• the adjustable shelves- allowing me to decide where the food goes and how big I need the shelves
• adjustable temperature for the storage drawers, and there are three of those
• the deep "pockets" of the doors allowing for more storage of 2 liters and condiments
• the child lock which keeps children from using the temperature controls, water and ice dispenser
• easy open doors
• alarm that tells me the door was left open
• stainless steel

My Viewpoint:  I recently had to reconsider owning my Samsung Refrigerator - Side by Side.  The thermostat went out.  And after spending several hours trying to find a repair person in Houston (I mean if you can't find one in a city of almost 3 million people!) I had just about decided that I didn't like it all that much. Fortunately, my husband came to the Samsung Refrigerator - Side by Side's rescue and found a repairman.  The repair was relatively inexpensive, but for a couple of days while we waited on parts I had to decide to fix or buy another one. I didn't want to buy another one, after all it has everything that I want in a refrigerator and then some. It is definitely one of the most energy efficient pieces of equipment in my kitchen, and it is used fully, there is not a function I don't use. Even the stainless steel is special, it is the one appliance that doesn't get smudgy fingerprints all over it.  It is easy to clean with good old fashioned soap and water. Now that we know where to go should anything else happen to it the Samsung Refrigerator - Side by Side is a keeper.
