Omnia II - Great with a few complaints

3

I have been using my Omnia II as my primary work phone for almost six months. So far, so good. The customization is great. Regarding what you can do as far as making apps and programs that you use frequently the most easily accessible. I find typing on it is not as cumbersome as tiny keyboards. The Camera takes incredible pictures and video. I was surprised by the high quality as compared to other smartphones. I would prefer a keypad that remains on the screen and available for the duration of a phone call. Being on a call that requires numbers to punched in (banking, etc.) in quick time can be delayed when you are trying to pull up the keypad. All-in-all the response time is quick and it supports Microsoft office as much as you would expect on a smartphone - enough capabilities to get by but not a full functionality. The audio and visual details provide good quality and it is easy to share things with friends or sync with a computer. This phone was not puchased by me, but my employer - but I would have chosen it anyway!

Getting there...

4

My job requires that I have a Windows phone, I originally started out with the Omnia.  After many issues with the interfacing with corporate email and the Omnia, I was upgraded to the Omnia II. There was vast improvements on the Omnia II over the previous phone and work email interface is now functional.  The functionality and extras on the phone make it fun as well as productive.  The screen is larger and a little more usable and the phone is a little more easy to customize. I still have issue with the small amount of Main Memory.  Because of the tools I need to use, this becomes an issue frm time to time... They made great improvements, but they are just not quite there on having a great phone in this class... Probably a lot of the limitations have to do with the operating system to some point, and hopefully with the new Windows Mobile, hopefully my next Samsung Upgrade wil meet all the demands of what I need for a work and business phone...

Samsung Omnia II is better than what people say.

I currently have the samsung Omnia II and before i bought it i looked at several review website and several people said it was not a good food. I went on my own instinct and purchased it anyway, so far i love the phone. The swype features is a good feature and makes it easier to text and if you have big fingers the stylus is a plus. It also has lots of features and and really good display on the screen. The only thing i would change is that it doesnt have a twitter application but you can still buy one from the marketplace. Just like any touchscreen or smartphone it freezes up occasionally but other than that its a overall good phone.

The Samsung Omnia II Rocks

4

The Samsung Omnia II I800 Smartphone rocks.  This phone is incredible.  It really does do it all.  The Samsung Omnia II I800 is like having a mini laptop right in your pocket.  You can create, edit and e-mail Microsoft documents right from the phone.  It is the easiest text message you could possibly imagine.  The text message style (using the stylus pen without lifting it up) does take some getting used to.   It is also not always correct with it's letters.  However, once you get used to this new way of texting it is much easier than the old "press a key to get a letter" method.  The phone is a good size.  Not too bulky but not so small that it keeps getting lost in my purse.  It fits in a pocket and is about the size of an iphone or ipod touch.  The touch screen on the phone is not as sensitve as I had hoped it would be.  Sometimes it does not respond to the stylus very well.  I have been using it less than 2 weeks and already had to hard boot it once.  Despite all of the minor issues the phone rocks!!

Soooo easy to use!

This was my first experience with a smartphone and I didn't even have a set of instructions to work with and it was still a piece of cake! Navigating the phone was extremely simple. I used my instincts to point at things I wanted and to "double point" and the phone magically did everything I wanted it to. There is a strong camera, an easy to use keyboard, and the touchscreen is very responsive and simple to use. The best part of the phone is the voice recognition feature, which is very adept at knowing what you say, and when it doesn't, it gives you a list. The phone has a long battery life and charges in around an hour or two. The screen is easy to see in bright sunlight also. There are many fun features that the phone has and the audio is clear as well both on speaker and on normal mode. It comes with a charger and everything you need to get started. Overall it's a great phone especially for smartphoneaphobic people like me!

Samsung Omnia II - Good for some things not for all

4

Samsung Omnia II offers the choose to go completely mobile.  Running on windows 6.5 it comes stocked with the entire Office Suite.  It is easy to navigate and understand and very user friendly.  The battery life is great, maybe a full charge once a week and I text on it all day long.  However it is windows run and windows freezes at times and so does this phone.  Phone has froze to the point of having to remove the battery at times or just having to wait until it unfreezes.  It also does not unlock the touch screen with just one touch, you must push the end button sometimes several times.  All in all even with it's flaws it is still a great product that offers any person on the go multiple features to use.
