Love love loved this phone!!!

I absolutely loved this phone! I just love the option to use the slide out keyboard, but I'm a fast typer {60wpm} so I'd be going to town on the keyboard, m surprised the keys didn't fall off lol! Battery Life This all depends on what apps you are using, like any internet stuff will drain it fairly quick. Why I suggest installing an app that shuts down the apps that aren't running in background. Like task manager, app killer. Display/Screen Quality I'm rating it a little lower than the others because the newer technology has better screens. Call Quality I had no problems talking to someone on the phone, but I recall numerous times that if someone beeped in & I'd click over to tell them I'd call them back meanwhile hang up on the 1st person I was talking to. Or it'd do 3 way calls which was not my intention lol!!! Ease of Use I was a little confusing at first but once u get the hang of it, its a breeze & the pull out keyboard came real handy for me. Durability Let's just say 'somehow' my phone got thrown & hit our glass TV stand! I was expecting to pick it up with a cracked screen, BUT all it had was a small dent on the outside of the phone Design Loved the design. I hear they've stopped making these cell phones, I'm hoping that's not the case. I hope they keep making them, only better & with that awesome keyboard!

Great phone....even after 2 years

This is my husband's phone, and he loves it. He has had it since it first came out. The Samsung Moment offers both a touchscreen with touch keyboard but also has the sliding QWERTY keyboard which he uses most of the time. The Samsung Moment has been a great, reliable, dependable phone. Battery Life Battery life has always been pretty good considering how much he uses the phone, which is quite a bit. As with any phone.... with age comes worse battery life. The battery is not nearly as bad as some phones. Display/Screen Quality The Moment offers a 3.2" touchscreen, with widescreen display. The screen quality is great. The phone's QWERTY makes texting and emailing much easier. Call Quality Clear calls every time. The Moment is also Bluetooth capable which is A1 important for us, as we always go hands free. Ease of Use Very easy to use and learn to navigate around on. The Moment has an Android Operating System, which is full of apps. One thing that helps is the "Advance Task Killer app". We both have this app downloaded to help stop unwanted apps from running. Durability The Moment has been very durable and long lasting. Design Great design. This phone offers touchscreen as well as a QWERTY keyboard.

Best phone ever!

**I love my phone more than any phone I have ever had before...You will here lot's of people say that they do not like this phone but majority do not like it because they do not know how to use it.  The Samsung Moment does so much and if you know how to take advantage of the things you can do with it...it's amazing. I got my phone the day it was released and other than a few Software updates that need to be performed I have had nothing but success!  It is a little larger than most phones but in a great way!  Bigger screen for exploring the internet, larger keyboard for texting, etc.  The only problem that I have had is muting people and hanging up on people sometimes with my face...Hopefully some of the newer Software will fix some of those minor problems.  I have other phones that do the same thing.....you will have issues like that with Touch Sensored phones!  If you not had the chance to experience a Android phone....get out there and get one.  They are so much FUN!**

The best phone I've ever owned

Overall, I love this phone. I love the market with all the different applications. There are a lot that are free. I love checking my e-mail and my social networking sites on this phone. It's fast and very easy. Browsing the internet with this phone is great. It's fast and efficient. The camera on this phone is great. I love that it has a flash and I can turn it on/off as needed. I've never had a picture that didn't come out. My kids love this phone, too and love playing the games apps that I've downloaded. They definitely come in handy and keep them entertained when we are out somewhere. I love that it has the option of using the onscreen keyboard or the QWERTY keyboard. I text a lot so the full keyboard makes it a lot easier for me. I can have issues sometimes with hitting the wrong button on the onscreen keyboard. There are a couple minor things that I have an issue with. One is the battery life. I am a stay at home mom and don't really use it that often, but there are days that I have to charge it more than once. It can be a hassle. Second, I also have issues when talking on the phone. The mute button always seems to get pushed which makes it hard to have a conversation. I think there should be a way to lock the screen when on a phone call. I don't like that you can't change the messaging ringtone. You can change the notification ringtone, but then it goes off everytime you unplug and plug the charger in and you can't stop it until the ringtone is over. I don't like that at all. Occassionally the touch screen lags a bit, but it's not a big deal and doesn't happen very often.

will be a better phone when the software catches up

My husband absolutely had to have this phone when it came out, therefore I was "upgraded" from my Blackberry to the Samsung Moment as well.  There are things I like and things I dislike.  The touch screen would be my number one dislike.  The lack of battery life would be my number two dislike.  I find the touch screen frustrating to use.  I'm either opening something I didn't mean to open, unable to get the screen to scroll without opening something else, or getting frustrated that it just won't let me point on just the item I want to open.  My husband doesn't have the same trouble clicking on things, but for some reason I just can't ever seem to get it right.  The battery life on it is awful, even with the minimal usage of a housewife, the battery is nearly dead every night.  My husband's battery only lasts about 4 hours with his use for work, he has to charge it at the office every day and then when he gets home at night too.  I like the apps and the speed for browsing the web.  It just seems like the software is still developing with always waiting for the update to make something work it's best.  Call quality is great and for a gadget/techie guy like my husband it's a great phone, but for me, a housewife, I'd rather have my Blackberry that just worked with out any hassle or downloads or frustrating touch screen issues.

good phone

I've had this phone for a little bit over a year now. I wanted a phone that offered the android system. I also wanted to touch screen phone. But I also wanted a actual keyboard. I don't like typing on a touchscreen, when I'm texting, or doing e-mail. The slide out keyboard on this phone works well. The small space key took a little bit of time to get used to, but now than used to it, I can text and e-mail quite quickly. The phone really does everything I needed to do, giving me quick access to the Internet. The only thing I don't like about the phone is the short battery life. I used to have a Palm phone, and I could use it often on throughout the day, and the battery wouldn't be dead by the end of the day. But when I take this phone to a full day of work, I have to really watch myself and basically ration my use of it, so I don't end up with a dead battery by the end of the day. I hope they come up with a better battery on future phones.

Worst phone I've ever had

1

Had i known then what i know now i would never had been so eager to get this phone. I can't use the Internet because it is so slow, it also drains the battery like no other. Trying to make a call is a joke. It is forever slow trying to navigate around all the contacts trying to find the one you want and then if it happens to connect when you want it to, you had better make sure you hold the phone our from your cheek or else you'll either disconnect the call or pull up the keypad and constantly press numbers and not know it until someone tells you to stop pressing numbers. It's luck of the draw whether your text will be sent. Most times it comes back undeliverable. I had to replace it three different times for various reason and been to the sprint store to ask advice on how to improve it and I get the same answer every time "it's not going to do everything you want it to". Well shouldnt it? I dislike this phone so much I am considering buying out my contract so i can get an apple phone. So beware before purchasing this phone. You'll have more problems with this phone than you'll want to deal with.

Samsung Moment, more like SamDump Moment

2

For what you spent, you would be better off getting another smart phone, such as the Evos 4G, or the relatively new Motorola Atrix. While the Samsung Moment did initially offer promising features when coupled with an unlimited data plan, over time, I have realized the phone is incredibly slow to boot (roughly 30-45 seconds of staring at a glowing Samsung logo), slow to load after the boot (may take up to minutes to fully load all the applications), has slow internet connectivity, and increased bogginess (especially after installing several apps, other smartphones do not have the same issue). The only pluses I would give the phone are its smartphone capabilities, such as internet access, (limited by glitchy software & slow processing times) and slide out keyboard, which can be more efficient than the touch keyboard at times. So buyer beware, I would stay clear and find a better product.

Love the phone as long as it does what its supposed to do!

**Let me start of by saying this was my first touch screen cellphone and it was an adjustment at first getting used to how sensitive the "buttons" were. At least it has a keyboard option that was used many times at first when I kept touching the wrong letters. This phone really does it all and did it all at first but the more I got on the internet and the more I used it, it would freeze up and the bettery wouldn't charge all the way. There are nice options you can set to close programs that are running so that you can save on bettery useage. It is nice to be abble to facebook, twitter, email and text pics from the phone but one of the main reasons I got the phone was because it actually has a flash for the camera and built in options for b&w and sepia, cropping and sharing...this however is my 3rd moment but all have been FREE thanks to the insurance option(7bucks a month) and I will be happy to keep it until I am ready to upgrade. These phones have since been discontinued so maybe there is a better one that replaced it.**

The Moment is a good phone

4

This is my first smartphone/blackberry. I have had this phone for about a year, and it is a fairly good phone. But there are so many things that need to be improved upon. For example - it is so hard to answer/end a freaking phone call! The lag time between me pressing the "answer" button, and the phone picking up the call is too long. Plus, the screen times out way too fast and I can't even answer the call. I guess I just really miss the convenience of a flip phone, where all you have to do is open up the cover and boom, you have answered the phone. And there are not a lot of options for settings, it seems like my old flip phone gave me way more options than this phone does. But I do love the touchscreen. And the phone has tons of storage. The camera is great quality for awesome pictures/videos. The slide out keyboard is sturdy and the keys are perfectly sized. Overall, I really like the phone. I'm not the most tech savvy person in the world, and this phone served its purpose of my first smartphone.
