I hate this phone!

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I bought the Samsung Messenger after my only Sansa one broke because I got water in it. I thought it would be a good decision because it had a qwerty keyboard and I text daily to a lot of people so that would be convinient. I also liked that it had a camera, which my old phone didn't have, so I thought this would be a step up. I WAS WRONG. This phone crashes all the time, has very slow internet, and is always telling me that I have no memory so I can't view certain web pages. Then when I go to check my memory, it says I have plenty! I don't get what's wrong with this phone. The qwerty keyboard is nice, the buttons are big and it's easy to type on, but dirt gets trapped between the keys very easilly and it can only be cleaned out with a toothpick and it's inconvinient to clean it. Also sometimes the buttons on the keyboard get stuck and you have to press extra hard to type one letter. It's a cheap phone, and it's very heavy. It's not worth what I paid for it.****

The Samsung U450 is a wonderful compact little messenger phone!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I got this phone about six months ago and it has worked wonderfully for me.  It makes texting very convenient, with it's pull-out keyboard and the way the display automatically changes directions for keyboard use.  It does not have a touch screen, which makes dialing numbers and talking on the phone easier.  It has a built-in camera that takes good pictures, although I do wish it had a video camera feature.  I got a colorful cover for mine which makes it personalized, and there is a wide selection of accessories available for this phone online and in stores.  I use a screen protector to avoid scratching my screen, and the phone's screen still looks good through it.  I would recommend it for anyone who texts a lot but also needs a functional phone.  Some of the extras on other phones get in the way, but this phone has just what I need for talking and texting, without a bunch of annoying features to watch out for.

A great phone with a lot of text appeal!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

The Samsung Messager r450 is a great phone. It's customizable as far as functionality, and comes preloaded with a few themes and ringtones. The display size is awesome, and it's so easy to dial one-handedly. It's a pretty phone, sleek and chic, and the qwerty slider makes texting and browsing a breeze. The only thing that I don't like about it is currently only available through providers who don't allow me to create my own ringtones and add them to my phone. I did it before the blocking application downloaded to my phone, and did so with extreme ease. It also plays MP3s, and the player interface is pretty cool and easily navigated. I have yet to create favorites in here, but I'm sure that it won't be a problem, given the apps available and the user-friendliness. It has a calendar, alarm clock, timer, measurement conversion tool, tip calculator, etc. With the exception of not being able to use real-time apps or java, this phone is the one for me.

Thanks for the Samsung Intensity son...I love you!

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

My son gave me a Samsung Intensity (SCH-u450).  I'd been wanting to upgrade from my Razr with something that had a keyboard.  I'd been shopping around on the internet, when my son gave me the Samsung.  I like the phone.  It's compact and light weight.  It has an adequate screen and comes with the usually bell and whistles like speakerphone, mobile web, a camera, etc.  What I don't like about it is that it has no video camera.  I have a grandson and I love taking pictures and videos of him doing "stuff", but I can't do videos anymore because the Samsung Intensity doesn't have that feature.  The Qwerty keyboard is nice though.  It "slides" from beneath the phone and the keys are nice sized.  The volume control and camera buttons are conveiently located on either side and there's a place for headphones as well.  The phone is Bluetooth capable.

Overall, the Samsung Intensity is a good phone for people who use their phones mainly for talking and/or texting.

good sound quality, a lot of features

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

First, I usually use my cell for texting. My daughter was upgrading her phone, and offered me this since I was going onto her family plan. I was happy to accept this slider. The qwerty keyboard would be perfect for my uses. However, while it is a full qwerty keyboard, the keyboard is not quite right. I would expect that a keyboard on a cell phone would be a tad more cramped than a desktop or even a laptop keyboard, the keys are way too close together with no spacing between them at all. This results in a lot of typos, which are usually fodder for laughter, but occasionally can have disastrous consequences if not caught. I usually catch my mistakes, but sometimes... and not everyone does proo...

SCH-U450 Cell Phone

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Overall this is a good phone. If you just text and talk its great, but if you want to do more like the internet and all i wouldn't recommend it. The slide out keyboard makes it nicer and also faster to text someone back. Its really easy to use and operate. It even has a great music player on it! I also like that its a light weight phone. The GPS on this phone is really nice and accurate! The only con i have about this phone is there is no video camera and that you cant get videos on it.

Samsung Messenger - okay, nothing special

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I was given my Samsung Messgenger SCH-U450 from Verizon.  It is a pretty cheap phone.  There are really no bells and whistles.  The volume seems to be okay.  The sliding feature of the phone seems to work out pretty well.  I like having that there to text with.  I also opted for the Verizon Wireless Navigator, which is like a fake GPS thing.  It doesn't seem to be very accurate, but I believe that to be a product of Verizon and not Samsung.

The big draw back, and really it's the only one that I have noticed, is that I end up making a lot of phone calls from my pocket.  I always lock the phone, but for some unidentified reason, it seems to unlock in my pocket and call random people.

The other problem that I haven't quite figured out is I will occasionally set an alarm, and it will never go off.  I have been lucky that this hasn't happened during an important event or anything.  If it did, I would be pretty upset.

Waiting to upgrade...the Samsung Intensity SCH-U450 cell phone

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

The main reason we were drawn to the Intensity when we were shopping for new phones was the slide out full keypad on the phone. I thought this would be great for my partner and he thought it was a good idea too. Another reason we picked this phone is because my partner did not want a flip phone and the Intensity if your typical "brick" phone. It measures about 4 inches in height, 2 inches in width and a little over a ½ an inch in thickness. It weighs in at just less than 4 ounces. So the phone really isn't bulky or heavy. It can easily slide into your pocket without any problem.

As just a cell phone, we haven't had any real reason to complain about the Intensity. It has had b...

Samsung Messenger II malfunctions in less than a month.

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

I've had the Samsung Messenger II for less than a month and it has been malfunctioning since the second week in my possession. This phone has not been dropped, wet, or had any other mishap occur to possibly damage it internally. It began with not being able to answer additional calls coming into the phone when I'm already on a call. I was told to reset the phone by turning it off and back on again. It worked; however, I had to do this for several days for the call waiting feature began to function properly consistently. After the calling waiting feature was restored, I could not call certain phone numbers and would receive a message stating that the number is invalid. However, I could text a...

Samsung Messenger II is worth more than its retail value

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

The Samsung Messenger II cell phone is a bargain. This cell phone is very reliable and convenient. The Samsung Messenger II cell phone contains many features of a luxury cell phone. The sliding feature is the cell phone's key feature that reveal its accessible keyboard for instant text messaging. The Samsung Messenger II cell phone is equipped with voice command which makes its easier for its user to contact others. Thanks to the Samsung Messenger II cell phone, there's no need to carry additional electronic devices. Some of its other features includes calculator, stopwatch, calendar, and alarm clock. Not only is it equipped with one alarm clock, but with two other alarm clocks for those who...

The Samsung r450 is the perfect sized phone with good features.

Overall
Rated 2 out of 5

The Samsung r450 is a great size and easily fits in your pocket. It is also not too thin so you won't snap it by putting it in your pocket and sitting down. You can also easily put a memory card into your phone and it can hold all your pictures and music for you. The screen is also a good size and easy to see what you are doing. It has bluetooth and many other features. Some features include a stopwatch, tip calculator, sound recorder, a converter, etc. It also has a full keyboard which makes it easier and faster to text. If you like, you can still keep the slide closed and text normally. The phone slides sideways so the phone look is pretty nice. This phone comes in red and black. The downside is this phone does not last very long. I haven't even had this phone for a year yet and its already falling apart. The keyboard spacebar and some of the letters no longer work. If you take care of this phone, it will be a great phone for anyone.

Where would I be without my Messenger????

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Here is a great cellphone!  I mean the Samsung Messenger Model SCH-R450 is the best thing since sliced bread.  Okay, maybe not exactly sliced bread but definitely a great phone.  I am an Event Planner with my own business and this phone allows me a lot of versatility.  It is the cellphone with a camera, friend finder, MP3 player and GPS system.  It is internet ready and bluetooth compatible as well.  I need all of these things to do business and it also has the QWERTY keyboard to allow me to send texts much faster.  I just love this thing.  It comes in black or red and it sleek and easy to put in a pocket, purse or hang around your neck.  It ...

Fun but fragile.

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I requested this phone for Christmas because I thought it would be free with my new plan. Not only was it not free, but it cost more than the phone I really wanted. Besides the initial pricing issues, the phone fell apart for the first time the day I had it, and the case would not stay on. Since then I have discovered that the back of the case is made from very thin plastic and doesn't stay on very well. One of the buttons has also stopped working. The camera is ok, but it hard to use and it doesn't have a flash.

On a good note, the keyboard is nice, and it makes sense, it is almost like a computer keyboard. The additional sD card that you can purchase with the phone is a nice addition and holds a lot of data. It is nice to be able to have music on the phone and it serves as a decent substitute to a MP3 player.

Overall it's an OK phone, it just needs to be constructed out of heavier duty materials and made to last.

Great phone for less $$ than other comprable phones

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

The Samsung Messenger is a really great phone. It has all of the features that I was looking for, but it's priced a lot lower than many phones out there. I was able to find a pink case for it on ebay for under eight dollars. The phone itself is available in a few different colors, black and red were available at the store I purchased mine from.

It slides open to reveal a full keyboard, so that makes sending qucik text messages super easy. The only real complaint that I have is that there are a lot of steps involved in sending a text message if you are not replying. You have to hit a lot of different buttons just to get a name and number pulled from your contact list. It's not a huge issue, ...

Good for talk and text only

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

I think the cricket phone: Samsung Messanger r450 which is now discontinued.  Is great for talk and text only.  In the contact information section, you only have a space for their name and number.  You can't even put someone address in, or save their birthdate.  You only have space for work, mobile, home numbers.  I heard it like that for all their phones.  Don't quote me.  I hate their web features.  There web features always say network connection lost when you try to connect to a page. Try to load a page it freezes then hang for a second, then your phone will blank out and turn on again like you actually cut it off. I hate that.&...
