Samsung is great, in solid long lasting phones

5

I got this Samsung Memoir abou two years ago, and still has shown none if any minor problems. It's been giving me great service every single day.I love the camera feature, it takes great pictures and videos. I also looks really cool. I am always getting compliments on my phone and people are always wondering what model it is. The touch screen feuature is great. It's not annoying like the iphone which will only work with finger sensors. This way i can text with my nails too. It sounds like a strange and minor pro, but it's a big deal. What more can I say about this phone? It looks great, feels great, has great voice quality. I never get dropped calls, or missed texts. There is only one minor compain, sometimes it freezes up, but that's only happened a couple of times, very recently. It can be restarted easily.

My boyfriend has this phone and I often use it when I'm with him. The first thing that you will notice about this one upon appearance is that it is a bit on the larger side.. Kinda bulky looking. Like all the other Samsung phones, it includes apps such as music player, camera, etc. The downside with my boyfriend's particular phone is that his speaker no longer works on his phone so he can't use the speaker call app when making phone calls, can't listen to music, can't hear ringtones when someone is calling, nor can he use his alarm clock :( That's a pretty big bummer but what makes up for it is that the camera phone quality is spectacular! During the summer my camera broke so my boyfriend and I often used his camera phone to take all of our photos. The quality isn't "super duper good" but it works! Probably better or as comporable to the camera quality for the IPHONES! Yes, I said it haha.

Hold Really Still..Keep holding still

I was very excited to get this phone as I love taking pictures, but it is not always convenient to take a large camera around with me. I like to take action/candid photos and I though this would be a good camera being that it is 8 megapixels. The fact is that the phone does take spectacular pictures, but it is very hard to get the shot that you want because the camera is extremely slow. It beeps and looks like it takes a picture but the picture you actually get is about two seconds after the beep so it is very hard to get the timing to get the shot you want. If this problem could be fixed than I would rate it as above average. The video camera works well. It doesn't take the highest quality videos, but it does the best job that I have seen for a phone video camera. Overall, I guess I would not recommend this phone until the timing gets worked out because it becomes very frustrating at times.

Two Birds with One Stone

I wanted this phone for an entire six months before I finally broke down and bought it. In essence, it was exactly what I wanted, a phone and a camera for the price, and space capacity, of one. It's simple, easy, and convenient. Possibly my favorite part about this phone is the texting ability. The phone offers an onscreen full keyboard or standard 10-key texting keyboard for ultimate accessibility. Both work exceptionally well. In addition, the phone offers a sort of writing section, allowing you to draw the letters. However, while the theory is wonderful, the readibility of what you're writing is somewhat limited. While I do love this phone, I have run into several issues with it, although I'm not sure if it's simply mine. First, and possibly the biggest problem, the camera has a difficult time focusing, causing nearly half my pictures to come out blurry. Second, I've found it nearly impossible to find accessories for this phone in store, which is somewhat of a pain. Third, perhaps it's simply T-Mobile, but I've found that I get mediocre service when my friends are getting great service, and awful service when they're getting mediocre. Fifth, I've found it difficult to actually save my music to a miniSD card, but that could simply be due to my technological inexperience. Sixth, the battery doesn't last nearly as long as advertised, especially when the camera is in use. Lastly, the phone does not have a wireless connection, causing you to absolutely need an expensive data package in order to connect to the internet. Besides the blurry picture problem, most of these problems are seemingly insignificant, or in the case of the service, not necessarily the phone's fault. I would still highly recommend this phone as it provides the simplicity of not having to carry a phone and a camera around. In addition, it is an eyecatcher, and a somewhat rare phone, both which I deem good things. Overall, this phone is a lot of fun to play with, a decent phone, and very convenient. It does have it's frustrating points, but even so, it's one thing I never leave the house without.

Intensity personafies the experience!

3

When I first purchased the phone I was looking for a replacement for my LG Chocolate. Which I like the way that the phone is set up with flip capabilities. The Intensity is compatible in the aspect that it's a slide phone. You have initially the option of two colors, red or neon blue. When you utilize the website for purchasing you can get a visual on the asthetic values of each color. Which as a woman, yes it matters. The set up on the phone was extremely easy. So I have to commend Verizon on there technical capabilities. The phone came in sync and battery already loaded. So there was no juggling between a Sim card and code numbers, etc. . The set up as far as choices is a little disconcerting and not very self explanatory. The screen is clear though and if you have the time to explore, it's worth your while. I was disappointed in the ringtone choices, as they are comically basic. Any additional ringtones have to be purchased, and the verizon website does not have a lesser rate. Now as far as phone functions. I am not a wiz kid on the texting capabilities, but I get the job done. It is a big plus that the phone slides and resembles the keyboard of a typewriter. Remembering too that I am older than the average bear and the keys are a little small, even for a woman. It does require glasses which limits my access from time to time. One downfall I believe to the text messaging and video and/or picture messaging service is that they are only compatible with their own phones. Meaning anything sent outside of the Verizon family will not get a complete photo message and nothing longer than 160 characters. This a note more relating to the Verizon service though and not so much the liability of the phone. As far as dexterity - well I can tell you that as an average busy person, I drop the phone continuously no matter how careful I am - it always seems to slip from my grasp. No real damage gets done, but the battery cover i.e. back plate or panel always pops off. Okay so I should invest in a cover. The alarm, calendar and events options are handy and the alerts give you a time frame to work with. As a mother, sometimes things get a bit wild and a reminder is always a plus. I wish that the phone had a word or notepad option, so as I am driving I can dictate reminders or thoughts. The game function on the phone is a little awkward, as most applications or downloaded games have to be run when the phone is in standard upright position. Meaning that you cannot just slide open the phone and grasp as you would a controller for a video game. You pretty much have to play all games one handed. Not that if you are intent on playing you couldn;t handle it, but, as there always is a drawback - it just makes it a tad more difficult. Thus being called a cellphone and not a gaming console! The phone itself seems to have lag time in conversations that reminds me of a two way or walkie talkie radio. That is a bit unnerving when you are trying to get your point across. As far as the screen and keyboard itslef I am always cleaning it, it appears to be a magnet to all things near and far. Whether it be facial oils and or dust in the air. There is not that much room in between the keys for cleaning. It is pretty tight and flexibility is near zero. The camera function seems to work rather nicely and has options to upload to a Verizon album. It doesn't allow me to email my phots because of cross vendor or policy holders agreements. Whatever the politics it is one drawback in the telecommunications industry. In most photos you can make adjustments in cropping and rotating to serve your needs and you can save or edit to work with your profile. The clarity of pictures is rather good and are okay to print as long as you are not enlarging. The pixels  expland to a point beyond clarity. The battery life is concern of mine as I charge it nightly. I miss the longer life expectancy of some other phones, but perhaps  you get what you pay for. I do not have a car charger, and if I were to go on a trip I would be not in a great position. The phone also carries an decho or static response - which may be a defect, but I have nothing to compare too at this point in time. The battery life is about 14 hours on regular phone usage. However, should you need to habitually text or utilize the web mail or web pages it seems to eat up the battery. Am I hallucinating, I don't think so. I can plug up the charger and make a phone call without a blip. And the minuite that I connect on line through the mobile web, the bars begin to move. So for business useage, this phone probably would not be a plus. Also, the phone cannot maintain conversation and web surfing at the same time. All of these things should be taken into consideration when purchasing a cellphone.

Memoir, great phone with awesome features

this phone is great. the camera is amazing, 8mp. takes wonderful pics and video too. the touch screen responds very well. it is very similar to the Samsung Behold, except the camera is much better. the Behold has a 5mp camera. the texting works great, very easy whether you prefer t9 or not, or the regular number pad typing ot the full keyboard, all touch. it stores about 2000 contacts in the phonebook to the phone and about another 500 to the sim card. you can store all sorts of info for each contact, multiple #'s, address, email's, url, notes, etc.  it works with bluetooth. or you can connect to your computer with a cord to transfer files. costs a bit more than I'd pay for a phone, but I got it as a gift.

Make the most of your technology!

This phone is an excellent value for the money. It combines mp3 capability, camera, picture sending and receiving, a host of apps, and full communication capabilities. It features a full qwerty keyboard for faster texting, full internet capabilities, and comes in a variety of colors for self expression. This phone was purchased as an upgrade for my daughter who practically lives with a phone in her hand....the features are perfect for all her needs  and desires....she can surf the internet, listen to her music online or via mp3, take pictures and videos of her kids and share them with a touch of a button, and talk hands free via headset if she wants. She loves the palm size and sturdiness of the equipment as well as the ease of access to all her features. This phone is definitely a great buy and an excellent piece of equipment to consider for anyone who wants a versatile range of capabilities and applications. I'm going to upgrade my favorite Nokia friend to this phone ...it just offers so much more in an compact easy to handle/use size.

The phone with everything

5

This is the best phone I have ever owned.  I owned the first Instinct and thought I would not want to "trade up" but with the deals going on in the economy...I did.  The Instinct HD has everything you could want in a phone, plus more than you ever thought possible.  All email accounts can be accessed easily, texting is simple with the touchscreen qwerty.  Favorites are easy to access as well as adding email, addresses, and special rings to each contact.  Bluetooth and Wifi also.  The camera is the best upgrade, because it has a flash and you can zoom and the "graininess" of other camera phones don't compare.  You can also zoom.  The quality of the videos is controlled by you with a choice of 3....HD being a great video which can be viewed on any HD TV.  The medium and lower quality are great for Facebook and other sites. Touchscreen has worked everytime for me....and I would buy this phone again.

Great camera. Average phone.

My husband searched and searched for the best phone with a camera for me since I kept forgetting my camera everytime we went somewhere. We were missing the milestones of our son in pictures. By getting this phone I am able to always have both my phone and camera with me. It takes up less room then if I had both not in one). I love the camera function on this phone, but I AM a little upset that my husband has a better phone then me AGAIN. (He got the G1) I now wish I had a phone that has all the cool APPS that his phone has. and that he doesnt seem to mind the internet on his phone. (I might just need to get used to it on my phone) I did ask for a camera and that is what I got. Dont get me wrong the phone function is still nice and serves its purpose. The phone and camera both are easy to navigate for those of us that know a little bit about tecnology, but not as savy as some (like my husband). Over ALL I would still recomend this if you are a busy mother not wanting to carry many gadgets.  Please let me know if this helps.
