This was my first purchase of a high-end television set. I researched both the LCD & Plasma sets & decided that for my needs, I would go with the LCD. The room it was to go in was filled wih light & I was warned that a Plasma would reflect too much light & make for a bad viewing experience. Our 32" Sony had died after 10 years of use. We were moving into our newly built home & decided to treat ourselves to a big-screen TV. I wanted a flat panel so that I could move it by myself when cleaning. We also decided the biggest screen we would need was 46". I looked at all makes & models from 40" to 46". For the money I had budgeted (limited by new home expenditures), this model Samsung fit the bill perfectly. It has a great picture & sound & the menu was easy to learn. We have had this TV for over a year & still love it like the day we hooked it up. We had to make some extra wiring adjustments as all our home theatre equipment is in a closet & every wire had to go through the walls. We also went with infrared sensors, so that was alot of extra learning we had to do. Also, using the HDMI cables makes the picture even better. I really like the easy hookups to this TV & every question we had regarding this complicated hookup was found in the manual, with few exceptions. Overall, I like this TV & would purchase it again. The TV is on alot during the day & we have yet to experience any loss of picture or sound.We hope to get meny more years of use from this Samsung product!!
