Purchased two Samsung 40" hd-tv's in the last year and have been overly satisified with the quality. Each of the tv's have two HDMI outputs! Spend the extra money to buy an hdmi to hdmi cable because it will limit the amount of wiring to your tv, dvd, vcr etc. Also, the hdmi cable takes the place of the other cables that you would hook up. The resolution on the tv is outstanding. I suscribe to direct tv and must say that the picture quality on the HD broadcasts are outstanding. When I watch the ESPN channel with basketball games and then watch the game on regular tv it is totally different. There are no ghosts or fuzzing pictures when programs are broadcast in hd.
I went to Circuit City to buy both of the tv's and actually saved $300.00 during the one month period. You must go to the Circuit City site everyday and check on the price and added promotions they run. Save your receipt and make sure when you take in your receipt that you have figured out what you are going to save so they credit your account.
When I purchased the first tv I got a 10% on line discount of the offered price on the site because I picked it up! Within two weeks they ran a promotion that dropped the price two times both by over 100-300 dollars. Usually on Wednesday the pricing seemed to drop.
As for the Samsung the set up was very easy. The remote is very easy to use. You can adjust the settings in menu to the way you like a picture so I recommend fooling around in the menu settings. You cannot go wrong because you can always re-adjust the setting or just go back to the original setting the factory set. The tv has a black trim and looks very good on a wall. I also have the other tv in an entertainment center and everyone comments on how well the tv looks not the entertainment center. I have not had one pixel burn out in over a year and not one problem with the audio. I must say though the only negative about the tv is the audio. If you can hook up a surround sound to the tv do so! The guide is very easy to understand. I compared the Samsungs tvs with other brands and researched on line reviews of what people said. I came to my conclusion that the top two hd tvs out there are the Sony and Samsung. I chose the Samsung over the Sony because when I watched sporting shows in the store the clarity and color seemed better on the Samsung. Again, that is one persons opinion so I hope that helps. It is well worth the money! LN 4061
