This was my first LCD purchase, and I'm very pleased with it so far.
This replaced a 10 year old Sony 27" flat screen CRT, and although we are waiting for our DirecTV HD, we have watched HD-DVD's and upconverted regular DVD's on it, and the difference is astounding.
We purchased this from CircuitCity, when they were having a big sale back at the end of October. Not only did we save $225 on it, but we also got enough points from MyPoints from this purchase alone to get a $50 gift card. We then used that to purchase an upconverting DVD player (also a Samsung).
Setup was a breeze. The hardest part was moving the OLD TV out so that we could set this up. It's mounted on a base that allows the screen to swivel several inches to the left or right, allowing it to be viewed better from the side, without moving the whole TV.
We currently have it hooked up to a regular DirecTV satellite receiver; we'll be ordering HD this week. All that entailed was connecting the cable to the back of the TV. Our new DVD has either the standard red, white, and yellow cables, or HDMI. We chose HDMI, and that is a snap as well; it's just like plugging in a USB cord (for those "newbies" who have never seen one).
The sound is very good for built in speakers, but I hope to upgrade that someday to an external system.
I'm far from being a videophile, but the colors seem very true, and the picture clarity is excellent.
I've had several Samsung products in the past (laser printer, cell phones, etc), and have never been disappointed.
