I finally found an awesome phone!!!  I recently purchased the Samsung Impression (a877) and I cannot stop raving about it.  I find out new things about it almost every day (I've had it for over 2 months).

Something for the texters! I'm new to texting and I love this vibration-response touchscreen.  It's bright and clear. To spoil me even more.....a full slide-out keyboard!!!  I needed that!  For you youngsters out there - your texting life just went into overdrive. Actually mine just begun because I could never text on my previous phones because it just took way to long to compose msgs.

The Samsung Impression (a877) has:

  • Full Keyboard
  • Large Touch Screen (makes access to applications easy)
  • 3.0 megapixel camera, zoom: 3x digital zoom (takes nice, clear pics)
  • HTML browser (surf, search & shop on the internet)
  • BLUETOOTH® 2.0 (Connect wirelessly to BLUETOOTH® headsets and car receivers, and transfer files between phones and PCs)
  • Quick messaging (full slide-out/Easy-to-use, texting machine with full text, picture, video, and IM support (don't forget that messaging charges will apply if you don't have that extra service)
  • Video and Web (I was complimented by a consumer as I was video recording my son rollerblading in a race at the rink.  This lady really wanted my phone and said it had good video quality!).
  • Web browser, CV for news, sports, weather, entertainment and much more
  • Music Player
  • Text messaging/Instant messaging, video share (share live streaming video's with friends & family)
  • Mobile Email (AOL, Yahoo, AT&T)
  • MediaTM Mall (ringtones, answer tones, games, puzzles, graphics & more)
  • Accelerometer, dual speakers for AMOLDED Screen 3D sound
  • USB connectivity
  • Hands-free speakerphone
  • TTY/TTD compatible
  • Battery talk time - up to 3 hours
  • Battery standby time - up to 250 hours
  • Internal memory storage - 190MB (I got an extra memory card)
  • Display size is 3.2 inches, resolution is 240x400 pixels
  • Slide-out keyboard (touchscreen, QWERTY, Predictive text for fast typing, backlit keys
  • Productivity:  calendar, alarm clock, call waiting, call BLOCKING, personal organizer, address book, record audio, tasks, memo, calculator, converter, world clock, timer & stopwatch

This is by far the BEST cell phone that I've ever had!!!  I am the envy of everyone that I know!  HeHeHe

Blackberry Pearl's are really nice. I'm still hooked on my Impression though! Not giving this baby up!

I'm lovin' my Blackberry Pearl, but this sounds like a great phone, too!

Hmmm...I will call and talk to Verizon. I heard the regular enV is OK. the Touch apparently sucks the life out of the battery. But I will call and complain and see where I get,

Thanks Lisa. I can't say enough about this phone. I even have gotten into texting - since even my mom sends me text msgs these days. Never thought I'd say that!

Hi Patty! I've always been behind the times when it comes to my cell phone but this one puts me right up there with the big boys. LOL! Both of the kids are waiting for me to get tired of this one - with a gleam in their eyes.... as if I'd give it up!

Patty - take it back have them exchange it for another one. My battery life last for several days before I have to charge and it usually charges full in a short time. I have the env too.

Sounds like a great phone. I have an LG env Touch with dual keyboards and such and love it. The battery life could be much better though.

I feel like I've hit the jackpot with this phone. I really love it! I looked at a model a little less expensive (Samsung Eternity) but the Samsung Impression is waaayyy better quality.

Marking as favorite! I am up for a new phone with my company but have been waiting until the merger with Alltel and Verizon takes place this week. I am also saving for a laptop so that's my priority but I am wanting a phone with full keyboard because like you, I can't stand trying to send text messages when I have to go thru several characters to get the one I want. I currently have a Samsung Rave. I hope this or something comparable to it will be available when I'm ready to purchase a new one in the next few months. Thanks for reviewing this!
