Horribly Outdated, not a Smart Phone by any means

2

This phone is hard to text and dial on. It is extremely slow in all aspects. Half way through typing a message i'll accidentally hit send because it is so close to the space bar key. The internet sometimes closes on me. It is decently slim and ascetically pleasing. Just not the phone for me. I would not recommend it, unless you are looking for a cheap, no text, phone.

Good phone if you are looking to upgrade

4

This is a good little phone overall. It has basic features that allows you to access facebook, and other websites. The screen is a decent size, not huge but big enough. It doesn't allow you to have apps, or anything but if you are looking for an upgrade from a non smart phone, but don't want to spend the money on a smart phone, this is a perfect solution. Performance The phone itself functions as it should. I am only rating its performance as satisfactory due to the fact that it is a tmobile phone, and tmobile's network is not as large as some of the other carriers so I have various places where others have a signal, and I have none. Not the phones fault, but just something to be aware of if you are looking into tmobile. Voice Quality When I do have a signal, I can't say I ever have problems with dropped schools, or trouble hearing. Battery Life This is one of the best features I have found on this phone. My previous motorola phone had to be constantly charged. This phone's battery life has really impressed me, I have had the phone for close to a year now, and am still impressed. Durability I have dropped this phone several times and other than the back popping off, it has held up extremely well. They do make cases for this style of phone, but the one i bought was cheap and acually broke after I dropped it once, but th phone was fine! Ease of Use Very easy to figure out features and how to use Design Overall design is good, bigger than a flip phone but not nearly as bulky as an iphone. I like the qwerty keyboard as well.

I <3 my phone. I've had it for a year and have dropped it more times than I can count and it is still working exactly as if I just bought it. I love the " touch" aspect of it and will never own a push button phone again thanks to this phone. It has a bunch of great features like Instant messaging for instance, something that was priceless when my husband was deployed to Iraq last year. He was always a message away on my phone and could get ahold of me any time. This completely eliminated international texting and calling fees because he just got on his computer and Im'ed me and it went straight to my phone. It was a great peace of mind knowing he was safe and that I could talk to him whenever I wanted. Cons are the phone does not have apps and is not a smart phone, so that sucks, the keyboard is ANNOYING if you don't have long nails. I have to keep my thumb nails long so it hits the right letters otherwise I'm always having to correct my messages. The camera is also crummy. Those are things I can live with until I can afford a smart phone though :)

I like my phone

I bought this phone about 1 year ago.  My previous phone was a samsung too, but a flip phone.  I was ready to get a new excited phone at the time.  I was sick of the slide phone or flip phone.  But since I only use my phone to make calls, I don't really need a high-tech one (i.e. iPhone).  I visited the store for a few times to try out this phone.  I was not used to a touch screen so it took me a while to figure out how to use it.  If you never used a touch screen before, be patient before I almost thought touch screen was not for me.  But it is all about getting used to.  And now I find all the shortcut and tricks to use my phone, I love it.  I think it is a pretty good smartphone among all.  Samsung is a good brand - the phone provides a good look, not heavy at all, easy to use.  And the most important thing is the battery lasts.  I know the batteryof some other brands can only last 3 days the most when you don't make any calls, mine can easily last for a week.

A Good Phone

I typically like T-Mobile phones and their designs so that was something that caught my eye with this phone. I have wanted a touch screen phone and no keyboard so I found the perfect one. Its not bulky like other phones so it fit right in my pocket. The vibration is a bit loud so rest assured it will get your attention. It has a camera for taking pictures and videos, bluetooth, internet, text messaging, picture messaging and other cool features. The best thing about this phone is that it could be of personal use or business use. Its a great device for setting schedules and appointments. I would reccommend this phone to my friends because it is a good piece of equipment and very affordable.

I hate this phone!

I bought the Samsung Highlight SGH-T749 about a year ago. My husband and I were upgrading our contract & wanted a good phone for a good price. We both decided on this one. I got the blue, he got the orange. We had never had a touchscreen phone before so of course it was kind of amazing at  first. The first few months was fine. The touch screen was easy to use & I was able to glide through options effortlessly. The problems started about 6 months after I had the phone. The problem with mine was the sound went from a pretty good, loud sound to very low quality, I cannot even hear my phone ring or anything when it is on the loudest setting! My husband also experienced problems. His phone out of the blue quit vibrating. We are people who take very good care of our phones so  this was pretty unexpected and upsetting. I no longer like the touch screen option and wish I would have made a better choice. Unfortunately, we're stuck with these phones for another year..if they even last that long!

Good starter smartphone/touchscreen phone

This phone was/is my first touchscreen phone/smartphone.  While it was been nothing but reliable and solidly built, the features are a bit lacking, and the phone seems like it could use a slightly faster processor or better coded OS. The app selection is limited since this phone doesn't use a standardized OS, like android for example.  You won't be watching youtube videos on this phone or doing video chat.  But it does have a decent web browser and a pretty good selection of PDA type apps built in. The phone has a nice media player built in, which will play most any .3gp or similar video formats, which you can put on a microSD card.  The problem with this is the non-standard (not 3.5mm) headphone jack.  The jack is a proprietary Samsung creation, and needs an adapter to use with normal headphones.  This is a problem for me since I find the Samsung OEM headset quite uncomfortable. Overall though, for the price I can't complain.  I got this at a discount from my mobile network, as an upgrade.  I'm happy with it but will be looking for something more capable in the future.  This phone is kind of a "tease" for true techies like myself.

Highlight: the last of the touches

I have owned this phone for over a year and absolutely love it. Yes it has it's flaws but the pluses out weigh them. With it's fast internet speed and the ease of touch navigation it is a joy to use. However; if you have fat fingers or new nails from the salon typing can be "spotty". Screen scratches are the phones downfall, even with a screen protector it seems breathing on it will scratch it. As i stated in the title it is the last of the touchscreens that are nmot heat activated so you can actually move around more freely during operation. The phone has an average camera and will work in a pinch but personally i think they should remove the camera and spend the extra on a bigger processor and a tougher screen. It is lightweight and feels very durable with it's rough textured back but as the phone gets older it slowly loses a step or two. The back will sometimes slide off if not careful and getting a clear phonecall will become difficult.

I have owned a samsung highlight for several months now. I must say, I really enjoy having this phone. The phone itself looks pretty cool. The organization of the phone, applications, files and folders look very neat. The phone is touch screen, so that's pretty cool. I just wish I have some screen cover because the touch screen is filled with fingerprints and some very minor/slight scratches. I haven't dropped my phone on the ground yet, so I can't really comment on the phone's durability. However, I assume it is pretty good.  The clarity of the calls is pretty good. I don't the speaker is too good on the highlight. It is not loud enough. However, the sound and clarity of the sound is good enough. I don't really use the applications as much, but I do use some. The camera is pretty good. I have several pictures and the quality of the picture is pretty good. It's not the best picture quality, but it will do. THe audio player is a nice feature. I am able to play some oof my songs on the phone and the sound clarity of the songs are pretty decent. I don't like the games that are provided by the samsung highlight. They are boring and pretty useless beccause they are only free trials.   I am disappointed that they only come in two colors. Then again, I  bought a black cover, and it made my phone look cool.

Samsung Highlight more than expected!

4

When I started looking for a new phone, my husband tried to convince me to get this phone because he had one of Samsungs other touchscreen phones. I was skeptical, I didn't think I would like it. So I tried a different phone and the camera was horrible so, needless to say, I ended up taking it back to exchange for the Highlight. I LOVE IT! The only complaint I have at all, is that when you have the ringer on, you cannot turn the keypad volume off, which is VERY annoying since I text all day long. So I keep it on silent or vibrate.
