Samsung High Efficiency WF218ANW/XAA Front Load Washer — 

This washer will not work in a room that is below 60 degrees. Our washer gets stuck on the spin cycle and will not complete the wash. When the samsung techs first told us that this was because the room was only 57 degrees we thought they were crazy, but sure enough it states this in the owner's manual and the wash does complete when we use space heaters for a few hours before doing the laundry. I think this should be communicated to anyone wanting to purchase this washer for a basement or laundry room which is not heated to the same degree as the rest of the house! I would have expected more from samsung.

How does the fact that the washer doesn't work in less than 60 degree weather equate to a 1 star review??? Plenty of people have their washer/dryer in a room in the house that is "room temp". Plus, the manual clearly states the operating conditions of the washer, so you were not lied to. It's people like you that make it so hard for the average consumer to get a fair review of an item. Thanks for nothing.

I am glad you found this helpful! We are still in the process of deciding what brand to replace this unit with...check the owner's manuals before you decide as we are finding that a lot of other brands have the room temp requirement also!

OMG! Thanks so much for your review the same thing happened with our washer does not complete the spin cyle and our set was delivered February 8, 2009 after several calls and complaints the repair guy told us it needed a new motor for a washer less than 30 days old. Well, Sears is going to replace it with a new set, new brand name, however I am not sure who I want to go with Kenmore, maytag, LG not sure. I am definitely not buying samsung again!!!! Like you we have our set stored in the basement which is frigid cold in the winter. I cannot believe temperature would affect the spin cyle. Oh! well you helped me to determine what brand name I want to go with next. Thanks mnd29 :)
