Good Value basic front load washing machine

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I have owned this washing machine for almost 2 years and, knock on wood, have had no real issues with it. It was purchased to replace an old top loader which was showing it's age and attempted to walk across my floor on spin cyces despite much tweaking of its feet. The washer has multiple setting that are chosen using a front mounted digital knob. The settings seem to adjust default times and temperatures but I have not been able to discern any difference in the actual movement of the drum. It has "VRT" which is Samsung's vibration reduction, varying speed of the spin cycle if it detects too much movement. Even with the much higher rpm of this machine on the first floor of our house, it rema...

I am so disappointed in Samsung!

Overall
Rated 1 out of 5

This washer will not work in a room that is below 60 degrees. Our washer gets stuck on the spin cycle and will not complete the wash. When the samsung techs first told us that this was because the room was only 57 degrees we thought they were crazy, but sure enough it states this in the owner's manual and the wash does complete when we use space heaters for a few hours before doing the laundry. I think this should be communicated to anyone wanting to purchase this washer for a basement or laundry room which is not heated to the same degree as the rest of the house! I would have expected more from samsung.

Hesitated to buy a front loader, but glad I did!

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

Found myself needing a new washer and checked out front loaders, largely because of

their appearance and ease of use.  I am handicapped and need to sit for most tasks.  The Samsung front loader is extra large capacity and I have to continue to struggle to add more clothes to each load because I am always worried about overloading.  Not to worry, though.  This washer gets things super clean with so little soap and water.  The spin cycle - which I've never had trouble with - leaves the clothes so close to dry!  It was pricey but if you shop around and even haggle with the salesperson, you can get a deal.

Don't gamble with this washer

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

Well we purchased this models set samsung and it was delivered february 8th, 2009 and the washer never completed the spin cycle from the moment it was delivered. I love the dryer but after several calls, several representatives, and 2 repairsmen I told sears I wanted them to replace the entire set and they agreed. However, I am at a stand still because I do not know what brand to purchase next :( I have narrowed it down to another samsung set higher quality better rating and a bosch. I love the way samsung appliances look and it is hard to overlook it and go with another brand. I have conducted a ton of research on both brands and now I am tired and just want to get a new set in ASAP. Any recommendations?

Pleased with my Samsung Front Load Washer

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

We purchased this model set from Sears about 2 years ago when they have them on sale for an outstanding price. Since we had just moved into a new house, we were looking to upgrade our old washer and dryer to something more energy efficient. After having to wait for almost 2 months for them to get them back in stock (a Sears problem, not a Samsung issue), I was very excited to try a front load washer for the 1st time. It took a little getting use to the HE washer and how much detergent was really needed (a lot less than you think and make sure to use HE detergent). I have been very happy with my Samsung! It seems to do a great job of cleaning as well as spinning out the clothes (very lit...

Love my Samsung Front Load Washer

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

Got a really great deal on this washer and dryer set at Sears on Black Friday two years ago and so glad I battled the crowds to get it.  This washer has setting for all types of loads (towels, whites, heavy duty, etc.) it takes the guess work out of whether to use hot/cold/warm water.  It does those settings for you.  All you have to do is turn the dial to the type of load you have in there and it figures everything else out for you.  You can override those settings also.  The first time I ran a load of laundry I sat in front of it and watched almost the entire cycle.  It is so amazing how that little movement and very little water gets your clothes clean, but they are cleaner than ever - and it seems to be so much easier on my clothes.  Stains come out very well.  When you get clothes out of the washer to put in the dryer, they are so much dryer than any other washer I have ever had, leaving less work for the dryer - which is a lot more costly to run.

Samsung WF218AN Washer - love my front loader!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

I purchased the Samsung WF218AN front loading washer about a year ago to replace a top loading machine. I wasn't familiar with the Samsung name for washers (makes me think of TV's) but I got a great deal on it, so decided to take the plunge.  I was a little nervous about both the brand and the front loading style as I am very sensitive to soap residue and wasn't sure the small amount of water used would completely rinse the clothes clean.

I am very happy I decided to buy it.  It gets our clothes clean and soap free.  It's very easy to use.  It is more of a basic model and doesn't have a soak cycle, but does everything else I need.  That is easily remedied by letting...

Samsung HE Front Load Washer is what you have been waiting for!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

We LOVE this washing machine.  When our old washing machine quit working, we knew we wanted to get front loaders.  We spent hours and hours comparing and researching different brands and finally settled on the Samsung High Efficiency Front Loader because it had everything we were looking for at a reasonable price.  It is not the cheapest out there, but it is not the most expensive either, and I think it's the biggest bang for your buck.  The 4.0 cubic feet is more room than we ever need.  I can fit an entire week's worth of colored laundry in there, and I have a family of 4!  The cycle times are the same as the dryer, so you are never waiting on 1 or the other.  Obviously the clothes always get clean.   We have had this washer for over a year and have never had a single issue.  It handles everything from shoes to delicates to towels and back again.  Two big thumbs up!!

Great Buy

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I have owned this Samsung washer for over 9 months now.  I have been nothing but satisfied with it.  This washing machine is quiet enough to use upstairs even when we're sleeping.  The Vibration Reduction Technology really does reduce the noise and most of the time I forget the washer is even on.  I have a large family and the extra large capacity helps me to get more wash done in less time.  I can even wash my children's bedding in one cycle!  The high efficiency has cut down our water bill, making the cost of the machine very worth it.  It is extremely easy to operate with preset cycles and preprogrammed features.  It also has a child lock so my children cannot interrupt the operation of the cycle.  This washer is also very stylish and has a modern look. It is also spacious and not at all bulky.  I'm proud to have people pass my laundry room, and I would highly recommend this product to anyone.

This Samsung washer is my new favorite appliance

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

My husband bought this washing machine by accident -- it was on sale and he was in a hurry to replace the old top-loader we had that had broken.  I am so glad he got this one!  You can fill it up ("as much clothes as you can shove in there," according to the salesman) and it will still get everything clean.  I have been able to use my homemade laundry detergent in it with no problems.  There is a small catch that I've never experienced with washing machines before:  you have to turn it on each time you use it.  I like that it has a timer on it that tells me how much time you have until the wash is finished.  You can choose a normal, heavy, light, bedding, s...

Wonder Washer!

Overall
Rated 5 out of 5

This washer and dryer set is WONDERFUL! Honestly, we didn't have a whole lot to spend on a new set, but after a LOT of research we found ourselves at a loss as you get what you pay for, or so it seemed. The reviews for a lot of other brand washers weren't as good. After reading consumer reports and finding Samsung was offering the best washers, we decided to search around. We landed this lovely set at HHGregg for a great deal. It felt too good to be true, top rated Samsung set for cheaper than even lower end models. We hoped it would work as well as it was rated. Sure enough it has lived up to our expectations and then some! We also cloth diaper in our household and my diapers come out CLEAN...

Love my Samsung HE Washing Machine

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I have owned my Samsung HE washing machine for 6 months now and absolutely love it. The machine runs quiet and I barely hear it when it is running or spinning. The clothes spin out so fast that most of the water is removed in the process and they dry much faster.  This causes me to use less energy on my dryer. I have noticed a difference in my water bill as well. Because the front load holds so much more we are able to wash more clothes in less loads and then the washer also uses less water. I have not had any trouble with smells coming from the washer. I was advised when I bought it to leave the door ajar and let the washer dry out at the end of the day after using the washing machine....

very quiet machine

Overall
Rated 4 out of 5

I got this to upgrade aftger moving. This was my first front loader. I purchased this at Lowe's, which was the cheapest and offered a quicker delivery date. We compared and searched for several front loaders. It was difficult to choose between this and a similar washer made by LG. Hubby chose this basically because it was on sale and it had easier access if it should every need to be fixed. This washer gets used everyday and is large enough to wash my king size comforters. It has several, different cycle options. I use the different cycle to wash everything from delicates to heavily soiled clothing and rugs. The unit is very quiet as well. We have this unit in our basement, where we also hav...

Gets everything but the diapers clean

Overall
Rated 3 out of 5

We purchased the Samsung WF218ANB Washing Machine at a black Friday sale at Sears in 2008. We were planning to start a family and use cloth diapers, so we wanted a reliable and water conserving washer to aid us in that. Because the washer never fully submerges the diapers in water, they don't get clean enough with regular washing, so we have to run them through two sanitize cycles once a month. We gave our old washer to a friend and it is still running strong. If I had to do it over again, I would wait until my current ones died to get new ones.

Pros:The sanitize cycle is nice for things I buy used or for the monthly diaper sanitizing. It is overall a good machine, but I feel like my older ...
