I got the Samsung Eternity free with a new 2 year contract with AT&T. I did my research and chose the phone before I chose the contract or provider, purely on the basis of its SAR rating. I'm a firm believer in the link between cell phones and cancer, and this phone has the lowest SAR rating of any phone currently on the market. It has a big, bright touch screen that's easy to manipulate. My previous cell phone actually gave me headaches, and this phone doesn't bother me a bit.
The phone has an internal GPS receiver, and I tried out the AT&T Navigator service for the initial free month. Unfortunately, I was extremely unimpressed with the performance of the GPS. It often wouldn't find signal even on a cloudless sunny day. When it did find signal, it would take a long time to pull up a route. Instead of using the built-in GPS and pay the extra $10 a month, I went with the free downloadable Google Maps app.
You can access certain email accounts through the phone, but I was disappointed that Gmail wasn't one of the choices. You can download the free Gmail app from Google for that as well. I believe you can get Yahoo Mail and Hotmail on the phone, however.
The camera is serviceable. It's 3MP, but doesn't take crystal clear images. Useful as a backup if I don't have my regular camera handy.
It doesn't really come with any games preloaded. There is a relatively useless rumbling dice app. It has a stopwatch and timer, however, as well as a calculator, calendar and other apps you would expect. There is also the nice feature of adding birthdays and notes to any contacts that you've added to your address book.
There is no reminder beep if you've missed a call.
Overall, I am completely satisfied with this phone, and would highly recommend it.
