Touch Screen Problems

3

Overall I've been satisfied with this phone. Great extras, however the touch screen broke after 4 months of use. I hadn't damaged the phone at all, however, all of a suddent the touch screen was off. For example I would be texting and touch the letter A and it would type a W. I took it in and they replaced it for free (U.S. Cellular), after trying to calibrate it. I was pleasantly surprised about the replacement phone for no cost to me, especially because I don't have insurance on my phone. We'll see if it lasts for the next year and a half until me contract is up.

Great phone but the touch screen sensitivity needs improvement

I am overall satisfied with the Samsung delve phone.  The sound quality of callers is good, music and television comes out clear.   I am above and beyond impressed with the camera option on this phone!  The pictures come out much better than with any digital camera I've used!  The auto-focus is great and the ability to take multiple shots to get the perfect photo is incredibly useful for getting picture of the 6 kids I have!  The GPS is very accurate!  It gives you turn-by-turn directions, recalculates automatically if you take a wrong turn and can find locations by street address, business name, or just the name of the city!  Proven to be a most useful tool! I am slightly unsatisfied with the speed when using the web browser.  It's supposed to take seconds but will take minutes for a screen to load, that is if you're patient enough to wait!  I am also disappointed with the quality and life of the touch screen.  I haven't had the phone long and I am already seeing problems with some areas of the screen not registering. Overall this is a good phone and for the use I have for it, it does it's job.

Not at all comperable to the iPhone.

My husband bought me the Samsung Delve for Christmas because we use U.S. Cellular.  I really wanted an iPhone, but we didn't want to switch to AT&T, so U.S. Cellular assured my husband it was their closest model.  I really liked it at first, but the more I use it, the more negative things I find. Pros:  Touchscreen, MP3 Player, Navigation System, Tone Room, and widgets for Facebook and MySpace.  It has a sleek look to it and has internet capabilities.  Camera works great and has good resolution. Cons:  My touchscreen screwed up within the first few months and now the left half of the screen is frozen.  You cannot use your MP3 files as ringtones.  When using the keyboard in QWERTY mode, there is no apostrophe symbol to use.  Internet access is very slow and I only use it when I absolutely have to. Overall, I think it's a nice looking phone.  I like it for the camera/video camera and the MP3 player, but there are better phones out there with these capabilities.  It is no comparison to the iPhone, if that's what you're looking for.

The Delve was a wonderful phone...for about 6 months.

When I first bought this phone, I thought I was getting an extremly good deal. It was lightweight,  had a full html browser, the ability to play YouTube videos and a whole lot of other cool features. I was always discovering new and fantastic features on the phone. Unfortunantly, they didn't last long. The touchscreen on the phone started to become inresponsive and hard to handle. If I was to press the A key I had to press the key above it. I eventually grew tired of this so I used the handwriting function. This was just as bad, because no matter how hard I try, I could not get the letters that I wanted. I always had to go back and redo a letter.  Another bad thing about the phone was the internet. I found it to be extremly slow, even on basic websites, with javascript and images turned off. In the end, this phone was a rip.

I love my Samsung Delve!

I love this phone!  Before this one I had a Motorrola Q and I thought that was great until this one.  This phone totally fits me and my needs.  Texting, answering calls, taking pictures, videos, and music are super easy.  The touchscreen is great too.  It is user friendly.  The manual was easy to understand and straight forward. I like the style and the preloaded programs and tools.  I can locate the things I need quickly such as calandar, time, alarm, weather etc.  Gettng online is easy as well and the screens load quickly.  The color and screen definition is good quality and easy to see.  I haven't had any problems loading contacts or setting ring tones.  The volume is easlly adjusted and adequate.  The speaker volume of callers is also easy to hear.  While it may not have alot of apps like other phones, for someone who wants something easy to use, that they can hear this phone is for them.

Maybe not my first choice....

When the touch screen phase came through I wanted to jump on board and having been a long standing customer with US Cellular, I wanted to stay with them and see what they had to offer.  The Samsung Delve was there only touch screen at the time.  I played with the customer service agents for a while and thought I would give it a try.  It was hard to get used to and was about to return it "30 days later" but stuck it out and am now liking it. I wish you could make the calendar your wallpaper and be full screen but that is my own opinion.  Overall, the features are great.  You can get a mini sd card and put music in it also, it can double as an ipod which is nice when you are on a walk ect. You can purchase different covers like all other phones.  Technology changes minute to minute so it is out-dated now but it does a good job and easy to use so I will keep it for a while longer...until I can get new phones again!!

Gotta LOVE technology

I just recently acquired a Samsung Delve, and I have to tell you of all the cell phones that I've owned this is by far the best! I just love everything about this phone.  It's a touch screen, has Navigation, weather, a radio, email, internet, and it'll tell you everything and anything you need! No matter how savvy you are at cells, it walks you through everything.  If there's something you don't know, just talk to it and it'll get ya there!! Two thumbs up for sure!  I liked it so much I made hubby get a matching one.  He likes it too.

This is the best phone i've ever owned!

This phone is the best phone i've ever owned.  I usually don't like total touchscreen phones but the Samsung Delve is not too sensitive.  Along with it's many features it has a 2.0 mexa pixel and shoots clear video.  The only bad thing i've noticed is that the internet runs a little slow. My mom is not techinical savvy what so ever and she already knows how to operate it perfectly.  I would be willing to suggest this phone to anyone who is looking for a reiable phone that they can count on.
